I do not tolerate any sort of normie drivel that you might spew, so keep it to yourself. You know JoJo? It's pretty good, but it also sucks. Too bad it isn't a masterpiece like Naruto. Someone like you who is unable tolerate hundreds upon hundreds of episodes of garbage filler content cannot even begin to compare to ME. Indeed, unless you are a GAMER or SHRIMP, you really must consider sharing my opinions to even have a shot at being cool based. Otherwise, you could be as big of a stoner as myself and watch at least 420 anime.

Every year I get a bit better at singing the praises of the Monogatari series.


The current anime scene is supersaturated with an unprecedented amount of isekai and many other forms of normie drivel. When it comes to what I consider to be ideal anime material, it usually stems from things that feel distinctly Japanese or incredibly unique. Prime examples of these would be: Masaaki Yuasa productions, NISIOISIN based material (pun intended), and Akiyuki Shinbo’s work (JoJo is unfortunately another example).

They don't make anime like they used to that's for sure. At the moment, the highest concentration of bangers that we've seen still come from the mid 80s to mid 2000s (aside from the isolated masterpiece from 2010 onwards). That is to say, the analog appeal of these works and level of artistry displayed in them are a sight to behold. A bit vague on descriptions there yes, but I'd rather not rant too hard on how digital animation completely changed the animation landscape in Japan. In spite of this, I'm confident in the future that digital animation has to offer. CGI has been creeping its way into the fold through effects (notably with studio ufotable) and through full on animation like with Trigun Stampede. Games already make use of CGI in a big way so it'd be a pleasure to see more talent put out more good anime like SpiderVerse and Arcane.
