A lot of people will pass this up because it's a Chinese animation. HOWEVER, that's completely their loss because THIS IS AMAZING. AOTY worthy even. 

The concept of going back into the past to fix things isn't exactly new, it's been done in anime before several times. However the way it's done feels reminiscent of steins gate and violet evergarden. The characters really get you invested right away. There's no nonsense and it gets down to business quickly. 

We have our 2 main leads which have a very wholesome and cute working relationship and who, despite being polar opposites personality wise help to balance each other out and bring out the best in each other. Their dynamic is really interesting (along with their complimentary powers). 

Then we have our side characters who actually have tonnes of personality and depth to them in comparison to other things I've seen. They all have their own stories which the protagonists try to help with and each time it's been really interesting! I really loved the basketball episode as it felt really fun to watch. There's also a lot of feelsy moments that will make you shed manly tears of joy. 

THE ANIMATION. The quality does not drop at all. The OP feels like a massive flex of talent and even throughout the show, the characters are so expressive and fluid. As someone whose used to watching lazy animation it's very refreshing to see. The music is a damned banger and fits really well throughout the donghua. They also use several different beautiful songs which again, is not commonly seen in most anime. 

My only issue was that at times the subtitles would go by too fast for me to keep up, or it felt like parts of the episodes were cut and skipped with janky translations or lack of translations. It's still watchable, but I wonder if this is just an issue on where I watched it (Funimation) or for other watchers in general. 

Regardless, please don't pass this up because it's Chinese. Please give it a chance!
