I am a dumb nerd who is way too into anime, video games, comics, and memes. Favourite genres include Sci-Fi, Mystery, Seinen, Action, Mecha, Fantasy and Comedy, to name a "few"... I'm a sucker for likable characters and good animation, so I will often forgive a weaker story if the prior elements are both handled well.

Most of my ratings end up being 3 or 3.5 stars at most because I generally stick to anime that I feel will be worth my time in terms of appealing to my interests, so if I rate something higher or lower, I definitely feel it was well deserved... I don't have nearly as much free time as I would like, so I don't want to invest in disappointment.

My Rating System: (Attempting to balance subjective & objective criticism)

5 Stars - Almost perfect, must-see, personal emotional investment, would recommend to anyone
4.5 Stars - Masterpiece, must-see for anime fans, *might recommend to non-anime fans too
4 Stars - Top tier, hard to get much better than this, strongly recommended
3.5 Stars - Really good, worth seeing, many good points, easily recommended
3 Stars - Solid, might be worth a viewing, might recommend depending on your genre likes/dislikes
2.5 Stars - Mediocre, might be decent enough to try, forgettable, probably won't recommend
2 Stars - Bad, probably not worth your time, won't recommend
1.5 Star - Really bad, waste of time, won't recommend, might be so bad it's good
1 Star - The worst, stay away, I regret everything, will never recommend seriously
0 Stars - Unrated/Refuse to rate

I personally rate anime feature-length films/OVAs and anime series separately because of the difference in the budget often allowing for a more polished production, as well as the difference in the creative process, such as the pacing of the story and character development needed for each format to effectively deliver a narrative. Some fans often view anime as a genre but I think this is misguided, I personally think anime is better categorised as a "creative movement" within the medium of animation as a whole.

Howdy, you left a comment on my profile more than a month ago. Allow me to apologize for not get back to you sooner.

Also allow me to apologize for my rudeness in my criticism of your criticism of one of my fav animes. We've all got different tastes and exposures, so that means no is right or wrong in the wide world of anime fandom.

I appreciate your reasonableness and maturity in your comment, you've set a good example. Cheers!

Kanami's Tsundere bit was probably the best I've heard in a while. That "BAKA" was so good ha. I was actually laughing because of how good it was.

Wasn't it amazing? Quite the show I must say. No cliches or anything, just a good story with a  Godoka ending :P! Glad to hear you like it, I loved it. I shed a tear at the part where Madoka's little brother drew her in the sand ;(.
