Housing Complex C

Jan 9, 2023

SPOILERS: The story is basically we are all horrible racists creatures and Cthullu has awakened to spread his wrath on the unworthy. The first three Episodes is mainly the old Japanese residents fighting with the immigrants because they're weirding out the old folks. The Final episode reveals the "true monster", with exposition equivilant to a retired college professor talking your ear off while you're waiting for the bus under the blazing sun, then ending the episode and series with bloody massacre and a fed up God. watch it if you want to laugh, cure your insomnia or scare your...

RWBY: Ice Queendom

Sep 19, 2022

I (newcomer to RWBY) watched this series with my husband (huge OG RWBY fan) expecting a better and proper retelling of the OG series. I thought with a series as massivly beloved and popular as RWBY and with pretty excellent staff members in the production, Crunchyroll would pull all the stops and go all out in creating a masterpiece. The final product is nothing but a kick in the gut for OG fans and a forgetable anime to newcomers.  The first 4 episodes were decent opening to the story but by episode 5 until final episode it goes downhill really fast. We're stuck in Weiss's Dream arc, that's... Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy

Jul 3, 2022

What's fascinating to me about this is that such an old somewhat forgotten manga Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy was remade and by Netflix of all things. That's what got me to watch this series. Plus it follows the premise and tones of the manga (At least the first half) which what shocked me as well. If you read the manga or watched the 1992 OVA series, that's basically what you'll get with the 2022 series with an updated character designs. While poorly written fantasies with ecchi fanservice will always have its market, I'm surprised Netflix funded it and left it unchanged especially... See full review

Tomodachi Game

Jun 21, 2022

I watched this series on a whim during its second week thinking it might be a killing game like Danganronpa. My expectations were low but overall I find Tomodachi Game pretty good. Tomodachi Game is like Squid Game in which the main characters have a large debt they could not pay so they decided to participate in series of children's games hosted by an unknown shady organization. Very much like Squid Game except there are slight differences: 1) The main characters are teenagers. (Duh) 2) Nobody dies, instead their debts increase if they misstep in the games 3) Games applies rules that tests (damages)... See full review

World's End Harem

Mar 24, 2022

If you read Y: The Last Man on Earth or even looked up a footnote of The Last Man on Earth, that's what you're getting with World's End Harem with three men instead of one. Anime follows the beat of the manga but some world building and context were cut out. At face value, you'd think it's gonna be that hentai where the MCs have the golden oppurrtunity to bang a bunch of big boobed beauties in order to save the human race, right? Yes and No The anime's story talks about how the world is in decay after all the men have died thus creating different forms of social issues, hierarchies... See full review

Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House

Jan 27, 2022

As the title and premise implies, Kiyo supports her fellow maikos through her cooking. The anim is your typical Slice of Life stories with cooking and food trivias thrown into the mix. It's a paint by numbers adaption of the manga with only audio and color making the anime distinguishable from the manga. Although it is irritatingly odd that there's almost no properly animated scenes dedicated to characters eating and savoring their beautifully created dishes like the manga. Given Cooking is the starring genre here and picture perfect dishes are shown constantly, why not show the characters enjoying... See full review

Kaginado

Jan 2, 2022

If you know Isekai Quartet, that's basically what you're getting with Kaginado starring the Key Visual Novels/ Anime casts Clannad, Kannon, Lilttle Busters, Rewrite,Planetarium and more. While at first I did enjoy the crossovers and the characters interacting with each other but then it got old really fast with the meta humor making the experince feel a bit dry and cynical somehow. It was a decent idea to make the episodes last around 4 minutes since the episodes are just dedicated to a joke instaed of a story. Some jokes might make you laugh and some you'll see coming and just get on your... See full review

Fena: Pirate Princess

Oct 28, 2021

I'm just going to be blunt for this review. Spoiler warning. First of all, animation is gorgeous, music is beautiful and voice acting is excellent and energetic. Those are much obvious and consistent. Second, I wasn't expecting any amazing or new or deep story going into the anime (expected as much after episode 1). At the very least, I expected a fun and wacky treasure hunt adventure something similar to Pirates of the Caribbean or Road to El Dorado with pirate and ninja shenanigans. The first half of the series gave off that vibe with goofy characters and the writing and dialogues being stronger in... See full review

Higurashi: When They Cry - Sotsu

Oct 1, 2021

SPOILERS AHEAD  "I expected nothing from the world, because expectations lead to disappointment." A direct quote from the final episode of Sotsu that sums up my experience with this entire series perfectly. My God, I shouldn't have watched this season out of my house because I was so close to punching a nearby kid. That's how angry and frustrated I am. Sotsu is basically Gou but through Satoko's perspective!! It's the same retracing, recapping, reusing and recycling of the first season that just ended last winter !!! It's the same exact conflict. Rika and Satoko are still fighting each... See full review

Joleobban

Sep 16, 2021

SPOILERS AHEAD The main focus is on the protagonist, an art school graduate, discovering that his classmate, the top student, is working as a hostess at a club to earn money to study abroad. Story's very basic it could be done in 20 minutes not 1 hour and 20 minutes. It's crudely dragged out with really weak fillers, pacing is really slow and really boring. Backgrounds are painted and characters are stiff 3D models. Character interactions and dialogues are really awkward and disjointed and the 3D models makes those faults more obvious and worse. The jarring experience of watching the film is somewhere... See full review

Vlad Love

Aug 23, 2021

The only way I was able to finish this anime without falling asleep or rage quit from boredom was while I went through hundreds of papers at work. Trust me I did not miss anything, it's really hard to give Vlad Love my full undivided attention and at least my time wasn't a total waste. First of all, this anime has NO YURI OR GL CONTENT  !!  I'm sure the tag was placed by accident and should be removed from this garbage anime. The "subtext"were at best equivellant to throw away jokes you'd expect from girl BFFs. No afffection of any kind between any of the girls what so ever... See full review

Redo of Healer

Jul 15, 2021

My overall opinion of the anime is the same as the manga. Same boring generic isekai world story with the hero wanting revenge on his abusers. Characters are one dimensional, I don't know their names and I don't care about them. Main character is still an asshole and the real villian. Don't try to convince me he's a hero or a good guy. One thing I can honestly really praise is the voice acting. I'm amazed that the anime was given a decent animation budget given the manga's nature. Then again I could tell it's not saying much. The animation quality is used very sparingly since the best of it is used... See full review

Are You Lost?

Apr 5, 2021

If you can imagine the anime's premise, it's already better than what's given by a long shot. Me pointing out what's wrong with the anime aside from the obvious will result in a review longer than my last school report and it's not worth that much of an attention span from me. I knew the anime had nothing to offer story wise going in. I thought I could at least get to see some ecchi delights but nope. What were on display was so few and tame it's downright stingy so why did they bother ? There's only one word that describes this anime:  B.O.R.I.N.G  If you like the concept, You're better off... Daisy, A Hen into the Wild

Feb 8, 2021

My first impression of this movie was that I thought it would be about cartoon animals on the farm for little kids and even thought it would be an ugly 3D animatated film from just the poster. When I watched the film Oh how wrong I was. The story is about the title characer Daisy (Leafie in the Korean version) a hen who is tired of being cooped up (XP) inside a barn laying eggs day in and day out and dreams of going outside and live as freely as she desires. She achieves that desire early on but soon discovers that living in the wild has its hardships especialy for a hen. The film's... See full review

Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time

Oct 13, 2020

It's just your typical RPG NTR Harem Borderline Hentai Anime. Nothing else of value out of those. The Animation is nice enough for some pretty good fanservice. The run time is 12 minutes per episode so it doesn't drag so much. The anime can be pretty funny at times. Not a bad way to pass the time if you're bored, alone and drunk. So go ahead and have a beer, have a laugh and have a boner !!

The Titan's Bride

Oct 5, 2020

I went into this anime despite the low score thinking that it could be at least funny with an absurd premise but I was wrong. I know usually with these Bordrerline Hentai it's sex first passable stories second but why couldn't the creators make this at least funny or over the top?! This anime is so painfully bland and unoriginal I've already forgotten it before writting this review. Despite the episodes being 6 minutes long without the opening and credits they feel so much longer. Even the sex scenes are so boring, I was struggling to stay awake and I was drinking coffee at the same time. Also the... See full review

Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!

Sep 26, 2020

Uzaki-Chan Wants to Hang Out! is your typical run of the mill Slice of Life college romcom. I've known Uzaki-chan since last year reading the manga and I'd say the anime does well in adapting the manga loyaly. The selling point of the story and the biggest laughs to me come from the comical relationship between the main character and Uzaki, the girl you either love or hate, sadly I'm the latter.  I'm a big lover of lame slice of lifes and ecchis but this anime didn't give me much satisfaction on either. Unless the the couple pick a fight with each other the episodes tend to rely on cliches, they drag... See full review

Mahoraba: Heartful Days

Feb 14, 2016

Overall, I found the anime to be Hilarious, Lighthearted and even Beautiful. It's not the type of anime that's chock full of action, mysterys and such, But Heartful and Good feel to it as the name implies. To me the best part of the Show were the colorful characters. It's the kind of Anime that makes dailey routines fun, charming and whacky and You can't help but laugh and smile at the end of each episode. It's a great anime to watch if you want to take a break from action or romance loaded animes.
