If a site is missing chapters 6-24, you were probably looking at the original version (webcomic) that was drawn by the author (ONE), because those chapters were never scanlated. The art in that version is really bad, but there is a redraw by Murata with some of the best art you'll ever see in manga. As for where to read it: I believe you can read it with an online subscription to Viz if you want the legal way, less legal is also possible but we're not allowed to link to that kind of sites on animeplanet. (if you've got a profile on the forums i could send a pm though ;) )
For buying manga, it really depends on your region. I've only bought manga from a local store that sells used books, but it's probably best to compare the prizes in local stores, on Amazon and Barnes & Noble (B&N seem to often have big promotions).

btw, I see that you're watching/reading a lot of "battle shounen" so maybe you should give Magi or Soul Eater a try (you've already watched the anime of Soul Eater, but the manga is a lot better imo)
