Short Overview: Tobira o Akete (1995, not to be confused with a film with the same name from 1986) is about a young girl named Nonoko who, as she's about to fall asleep, discovers that the shadows on her wall look like a person. Story: The story of Tobira o Akete is a very brief one, at just 9 minutes long. Fastening Days is a short commercial anime made for YKK, the zipper company. Despite that, it was extremely fun to watch and didn't come off as a commercial until right at the end - which is how commercial shorts should always be done, in my opinion! Story The story is about a pair of orphaned brother and sister, who are being fostered by an older lady named Anna. It looked like their father was an inventor, although this is only a guess. Ehhh.... This was definitely not very good. For most of the shorts I had to force myself to sit through them, sometimes because they were boring (Keikaku, Chicken's Insurance) and sometimes because they had terrifying animation (Table and Fisherman, The Saloon in the Air). The two shorts I actually found worth watching were Toijin Kit and In The Evening of a Moonlit Night. Toijin Kit was wonderfully animated and very intriguing.
