Paru Itagaki's Beastars Is Nothing Short of Entrancing!

Season One of Beastars is surprisingly enjoyable with a mature story that is slow yet intriguing and will have you engaged until the very last episode. The mystery of a murder will have you guessing and playing detective, the high-school like drama is relatable and the odd romances will have you intrigued; there's just a bit of everything in Beastars. The story follows the troubles of a young wolf having to deal with accusations of his deceased classmate as well as his own predatory instincts and his budding romance with a bunny.

As you can see though Beastars isn't your ordinary type show, the characters are humanoids, animals, and that might just be enough to put you off from watching this but trust me give it a chance. Beastars is lead by a trio of excellent main characters; first is shy wolf Legoshi who has a gentle heart and is relatable on many levels, he finds himself stressed over being a suspect of a murder. Then there's Haru, a lonely but mentally tough dwarf bunny that gets bullied day to day but gets through it all by tending to her gardens, and last but not least is Louis, a self righteous deer who's the perfect role model looking to become the next Beastar. The three are supported by a unique and interesting cast of characters, from a Rambo-like Panda to a overly worried Chicken.

The team from Studio Orange do a wonderful job with the 3D animation, they do an incredible job with the facial expressions which helps bring the characters to life; add to that a great cast of voice actors like Yuuki Ono (Taiga from Kuroko's Basktball) and you have this gem. The soundtrack for Beastars is delighful too with tracks like the self-titled "BEASTARS" and its many variations not to mention its awesome opener "WILDSIDE" by ALI. Now yes there are some moments that will make you feel uneasy but also some that will have you curious, overall it's definitely worth a watch especially for those of you looking for a great drama with great animation and characters.
