Sasen mo Warukunai

Oct 13, 2017

Overall, I found it to be a pleasant but forgetable read. It was good, but could have been better. The set up is interesting and the characters themselves fit together in interesting ways, but I really wish this manga was longer. It would have been nice to see how the characters' relationships and personalities evolved and developed, but because of how short this manga is there are several seemingly relevant characters who only have one scene in the whole manga. If this manga went on a bit more I would give it a 8.5-9/10, but as is it just feels like the biggining of a really good story and that's it (not... See full review

Henshin Dekinai

Jan 22, 2017

To be honest, I went in with low expectations since this is a spin off of Okane Ga Nai, and I didn't perticullarly like that series for multiple reasons (mainly the predictible characters and sexual abuse). However, Henshin Dekinai is actually really good! The humor was actually funny, the characters, or at least Someya, have interesting and belivable backstories, and the main characters are actually interesting and fun to watch. To me at least, Someya was one of the better characters from Okane ga Nai, which is why I gave Henshin Dekinai a try in the first place. This manga just made me like him/her more... See full review

Beelzebub

This is one of my favorite manga, even though it's actually pretty strisght forward. I really enjoy manga with op mcs who just totally destroy everything in their way, but the usual problem is that I also like characters to develope. This manga does have character developement, but not in the personalities of the characters so much as their strength. To be honest though, I really enjoy their personalities so it's not really a downside. The humor is also really funny, but if you don't like it you won't like the manga, since humor is infused into pretty much everything. The arts pretty good, too.

Memento Mori

So, overall I liked this manga. It's not the best I've read, but it's far from the worst. My main problem with it is, in part because it's so short, the manga has a tendency to tell you what happened instead of showing you. You know that her brother died, and that she's mourning him, not because you see what she felt like at the time, but because she straight out tells you how she felt. Also, at least for me, this manga didn't get me to feel that pain when something bad happens to a character. Some manga are good at that (take Koe na Kitachi, for example), and others aren't. To be fair though I'm not sure... See full review

My Roommate is a Cat

Oct 30, 2016

I really like this manga. The story is cute, and the comedy is funny and sweet. It's especially funny because, since the manga alternates perspectives between a reclusive author and his cat, you get to see what happens from different perspectives. The gap between what the human thinks is happening and what the cat thinks is happening is really enjoyable. The art is actually pretty detailed for this kind of series, which is kind of unexpected. The characters are all unique from eachother and they have good chemistry, even in the non-romantic sense of the word. Overall, I find this manga to be really cute and... See full review

The Rising of the Shield Hero

Oct 30, 2016

The story is pretty good. It's about a guy who gets transported into an RPG -like universe along with some of his classmates. This is a pretty common set-up so far as fantasy manga with game-like worlds go, but there's twist. He's an outcast, since the world's religion worships the three heroes who will save the world, and he's the unwanted fourth hero. I also liked that he doesn't act like a good guy. (MINOR SPOILER ALERT) After he's betrayed, he doesn't just keep going and being nice to everyone like a lot of other mcs do. He actually has a personality, which unfortunetly is a bit rare in this kind of... See full review

Collectors

Short, sweet, and simple. It's a 4-koma about two women who seem very different from each other, one being an intelligent bookworm type, the other being a showy girly type, but are actually very similar. The story is sweet, funny, and to the point. The art is sort of what you would expect from a 4-koma, but it serves its purpose. The characters are sort of one dimensional, though they do have some depth. Overall, though, I really enjoy this manga and find it to be really adorable.

Say I Love You.

Jun 29, 2016

I really enjoyed this manga because of the characters. Each character, even the side characters, has something that they are dealing with, such as body-issues, bullying, regret, etc, which makes the characters feel more realistic. Also, the manga doesn't fall into the usual shoujo trap where it takes forever for the characters to relize their feelings for eachother. Instead, they realize pretty quickly. The story is well paced and I really enjoyed it. The art is also pretty good, and so is the adaptation.

Black Haze

May 31, 2016

This is by far one of my favorites. When I first started reading it, I thought it was going to be one of those works that never explains any of its mysterious aspects and just expects the reader to forget about any plot holes. However this is NOT one of those series. All of the mysterous things and plot points get explained as the story goes on, and in a way that doesn't feel forced. It's nicely paced, with unique characters that each get their own back story explained at a time when it makes sense for the plot. The plot is not predictable, you never really know what's going to happen next, but it never... See full review
