Detective Conan Movie 10: The Private Eyes' Requiem was a wild ride. The mystery is interesting but definitely not the best executed. Don't get me wrong: I really had a good time watching it. There are many twists and some really cool moments. The deduction show by Heiji and Conan at the end is also amazing and really clarified some of the more fuzzy details. All of that being said, this movie was all over the place and so many details were all over the place. I really think this movie was more fan service than anything else. I'm not sure they left a single character in the DC universe out of this film. Even that random detective from a throwaway DC arc helps Heiji and Conan for a little bit. A lot of plot elements also felt a LOT too convenient (and normally I'm very forgiving about those sorts of convenient plot devices). I would recommend this movie for fans, but maybe not for people new to the franchise. There are way better DC movies to try out for first-timers.

This part is for Detective Conan fans: As mentioned above, there are so many characters in this movie. Kaito Kid has some pretty great moments considering this is not a movie where his character matters at all. Eri Kisaki appears for a brief scene to talk to Kogoro and overall the scene was a little out of character for the two of them (I get that Kogoro is low key thinking he or Ran could die, but it was still just too love-love for them). This is the best Haibara Ai out of any Detective Conan movie up to this point in the franchise. Without going into every single character, I would have to say this movie was pretty weak in furthering character development or really even highlighting the existing strengths.

5/10 story
7/10 animation
7/10 sound
8/10 characters
8/10 overall
