I finally understand what you were referring to when you said you couldn't tell if I was joking or not. You were referring to my response to your review of No-Rin, that farm-based anime. I assure you, I wrote that response in full ernestness based upon experience. I grew up as an Iowa farmer and the primary reason I did NOT remain an Iowa farmer is the continuous series of crises involving the crops or the animals. I could not see the sense in working constantly from before sunrise to after sunset every day for the rest of my life to get deeper in debt. The whole race to save the tomato crop may seem like nonsense to you who has obviously not had your basic survival tied to the growth of crops and there is no reason you should have to. However, the food you eat is provided by those valiant nameless people who try to eek out a living from the soil, providing you with the sustenance you take for granted. If you don't like that anime, fine. If you don't like the characters or the plot, that's okay, too. But to call the struggles they go through just to survive as, "get so emotional about some dumb tomatoes splitting they over dramatized everything" means you don't know how anything outside of your limited interests work nor do you care to learn. I do not object to your review of that anime as each individual has their own opinion but I do object to your characterization of farming as overdramatic because they all had to drop everything to save the crop. Some crops like corn, soybeans and alfalfa are hardier and can withstand heavy rains at the point of harvest with the result of simply postponing harvest while they dry. Tomatoes aren't like that and I thank God that wasn't one of our crops.
I am very curious to know who the female character (cowgirl wearing a shoulder holster) is on the right side of your banner. I think I might like to view that anime if I can identify it.
Joking about what? I have no frame of reference for what it is you think I might be joking about. Perhaps that may be an indication that I'm not joking but I can't say that with confidence until I know to what you are referring?
