Lostgirl84 says...   So on one of my breaks I found this..   Paramount and DreamWorks have just released the first official image from the upcoming live-action anime adaptation Ghost in the Shell starring actress Scarlett Johansson. Check it out below.   First Look etc

\r\n

hahaha now I want to rewatch GitS.  It's been a long time since I've seen the original...

\r\n

(To me, I don't mind if an "American" or a Japanese actress plays the part.  As long as it is an actress that can act.  The director listed also did the movie Snow White and the Huntsman which was a decent movie marred by the fact that the actress who played Snow White (Kristen Stewart) couldn't act her way out of a paper bag.  At least, in that movie she couldn't.)

Lostgirl84 says...  Hahaha thanks for that. I mean you were so excited that i said id be a supporter that you actually made me smile. I needed that. i am doing math right now and i have issues with fractions and it got so bad i ended up with a headache and began to feel miserable. I am glad to help ya out this way.

\r\n

I -am- truly excited!  I love it sooooo much when a friend helps me out by telling me they like my group!  Having  real friends in the group, besides just the wonderful people I don't really know well, makes a HUGE difference!

\r\n

Oh good luck with your math!  As we discussed, it's not always easy to comprehend, despite it being "logical".  Don't let your studies get you down.  Math always works out in the end, if you continue to perservere.  Dedication and study and practice are KEY to understanding it.  "You know it don't come easy!"

Lostgirl84 says...   As far as your committee i wouldnt mind being a supporter. I mean i dont have time for anything else anyways and i am barely a people person as is. Heck theres very few who can tolerate me lol and very few that i can tolerate.

\r\n

*happy happy*  I am adding you as a WECO Supporter, and I thank you much!!! (Supporters are important members of the group. Their endorsement really benefits WECO by boosting morale, and by helping to increase WECO’s reputation and visibility on the site!)  If you ever want to be more involved, just let me know and I can help you take a more active part in the group, but nothing more is required.  While I love the WECO's Greeters, who do the welcomes and who are very special people, endorsements are also very cool and we love our Supporters.  Nothing more is needed. No obligations. If that is the role that is best for you, I thank you very much for your support!  (If you -are- interested in doing welcomes on a regular basis and actually greeting new members as part of the group, just get back to me to let me know and I can send info about becoming a Greeter. I'd love it if you have time to participate at that level, as a Greeter! But no pressure - if you wish to  be a Supporter and not a Greeter, that is totally fine! *smile*)

\r\n

(If you want, feel free to use a WECO banner in your forum signature or on your profile page. They are here, if you want one, but no obligation to use one if you don't wish to.)

Lostgirl84 says...  Hey you.. Yes i have been feeling betterish. i mean my sinuses are well continued torture but nothing I can do about it except take medication for it. The weather still sucks but living in the south almost tropical state kinda sucks. I am more inclined to the cold i love the cold. I love winter and snow and yes knowing i lived in this state and then suddenly moving to a cold state would kick my ass. It would which is crappy since i was born around snow time. and lived around it for the first 8 years of my life and now im what people here call hot blooded and freeze with weather too high. Although Actually 33 is low for me and thats when i get to freezing XD 75 with a nice wind is what the highest i can tolerate. It may sound bad but i seriously look forward to hurricane season.. not because of the hurricanes that destroy everything, But mostly for the rain and wind I love the rain. Im seriously thinking Seattle would be my new home someday or Maine. Idk i need a climate where i dont freeze too much or feel like im gonna melt once i step outside my house and into the sun. Its like Mother Nature doesnt want us to be comfortable at all. I can do without the pollen buildup in spring but would love to see a japanese garden then. Or a beautiful snowy place you only see in a Thomas Kinkade painting. Look at me at my weather ranting.

\r\n

I can sympathize with the weather ranting.  I don't like being too cold.  But I also dislike being melty.  (Too hot to move, to think, or to do anything!)  California is nice weather most of the time, but here in soCal, it can get melty in the summer time.  When I lived in Northern Cali, it would tend to get too cold for me sometimes.  I guess my blood has thinned or something.  I grew up in a snowy area.  I remember one time in April, it got to 50 degrees, and I took off my jacket and danced around my yard in exhiliration because the warm weather had arrived finally!  These days, 50 degrees is a bit too chilly for my comfort zone! LOL

\r\n

Even though snow can be pretty, and fun to play in, I doubt I'd ever want to move back to a place that has lots of snow.

Lostgirl84 says...  Well.... I was cleaning my glasses one day and it just snapped right on the bridge part and it snapped right where the left side of the glasses meets the metal bridge. But before that out of no where the nose piece broke. And while taping up the bridge with duct tape i was holding on to the edge of the glasses and the base of the part that holds it on your ear, and it breaks then too. I didnt get the glasses because i got busy so i have to go in this saturday to get them. I did pick them out and they are so cute! And I may have lied about it being a couple weeks.. it was nearly half a year....it just want to say that because i was broke. My parents got me my new eye exam and glasses. Doing school takes my time and no time for my job. But Im doing good, and when school is done i start art classes.

\r\n

Art classes sound fun!  I'd like to take some classes to develop more of my natural talent. My sister is artistic, and I have always thought my basic skills are fine... but a great artist, I'll never be.  Not nearly creative enough!  But I like to believe that taking a class or two could help me polish what skills I may possess and help me to be better!  I hope yours are fun for you.  What type of art classes will you be taking?

\r\n

Lostgirl84 says...  oh man! im so glad im not the only who hates civics. At first my life when someone mentions civics i think its a car. Now i hear civics and cringe and think law and government and politics. I am finally done with that subject and let me tell you what, Math looks good right about now. So i totally agree with you. Math is Logical, It makes sense in a way thats hard for me to explain. Although I wont be a math genuis because I never passed math in my life in school so i know it wont be an easy subject for me but i think i like it alot more thanks to the civics subject.  And I love reading too!! I remember you telling me about the two types of readers thing. I think Im still a bit in disbelief mostly cause im the visual and i always thought everyone was a visual reader. I didnt do so well with the poetry part for school though in my reading subject, so me and poems dont work its gotta be fictional mostly fantasy based.

\r\n

I hope you continue to love reading. No matter what type of reader one is, books can bring fascinating stories and ideas to life!

\r\n

Lostgirl84 says...  Okay so i realized something. I am a big fat talker. And mostly about me. I suck as a new friend. I guess its cause i am always listening to my friends and barely get to speak.. and have no interest in the things i like so when i met you and everything went overboard. So meeeessaa very sowwie!

\r\n

I think you are a GOOD person to have as a friend, and I -like- your talking!  And finding out more about you and the things you like.  The things you are doing.  I am glad, very glad, to have you as a friend!  So don't EVER apologize for that again, got it?  I will tell you if there is something I don't want to hear or talk about, I'm not shy! Much.

\r\n

Lostgirl84 says...  That WECO, explain it to me more.

\r\n

WECO is my anime-planet Welcoming Committee.  I'll steal from the group description:

\r\n

The Anime-Planet Welcoming Committee ( aka WECO) is here to greet and help out new members.

\r\n

We feel that a cheerful and friendly greeting to a member just joining the site will help that member feel more at home on the site, thus encouraging said new member to stick around longer and participate more here! It also gives the newbie a contact person they can turn to if they have any questions.

\r\n

If you like the idea of helping the A-P community out and helping out new members, then WECO may be the group for you! There are two membership levels, depending on how much time you are able to donate.

\r\n
  1. Supporters (No time commitment) - If you think that a group that greets new members when they join the site is a good idea, then you are a WECO Supporter! That's all that is needed! There is no work involved, and no further obligation! Just let me know you think WECO is a good idea, and I'll add you as a Supporter.
  2. \r\n
  1. Greeters - You agree to greet a minimum number of new members on your assigned days - usually every day. (I will provide a daily list of assignments to all Greeters, and you greet your assigned member by posting a Welcome comment on their profile page.) You also commit to respond back to that member if they post a comment on YOUR comment page. (YOU can custom create a level here, with # member greetings and days that meet your availability.) Minimum commitment is 5 greetings one day per week, with most new members starting off with 5-10 greetings per day, which is about a 5-10 minute time commitment.
  2. \r\n

(Note: We have answers to commonly asked questions and other resources to help you with these responsibilities.)

\r\n

If you are interested in any of these options, please get back to me and let me know. I would really love to have you involved!!
