I've heard a lot of hype about this show. The story wasn't anything outstanding, pretty typical shojo. However, the characters and their development were beautifully done and it was honestly surorisingly realistic in a lot of small ways. While the romance was pretty sweet my favourite part was the wonderfully healthy female friendship. Despite them being rivals they aren't bitches and they talk to each other and express their feelings. I was pretty impressed.

See full reviewI would definitely recommend this to anyone new to sports anime. Id started a few others before but none of them kept me interested enough to finish them. Kuroko no basket is kinda a sports anime with super powers but that bit of extra flair and drama captured my attention for long enough that by the time the effect wore off I was really attached to the characters and their journey. After I finished it I found myself interested in sports anime where I hadn't particularly cared before.
