The 'Forbidden Love' genre in a genre that is often found in shoujo ai manga and appeals to many readers thus making Citrus one of the most popular Yuri manga out there.

Plot/Story : The story mainly revolves around a sort of love-hate relationship between Yuzu and Mei who happens to be step-sisters. Yuzu being the one who cares a great deal more about the relationship among the two. Its filled with many heart-warming, heart-wrenching moments and clenches at your emotions. More often than once your heart tend to go with the flow of the story which brings you up and down. If you like heart-clenching moments this is definitely the manga for you. Like so many Yuri manga, Citrus does question the social status of the unusual relationship between 2 girls and the obvious rejection of people around them conceiving someone in the 'same-sex' relationship to be very wrong. It also concludes many comedic scenes between both protagonist which warms your heart. I rate 9/10

Art : Saburouta's art has always been one of the best. The art is filled with quality as the artist pays attention to details. The manga itself is very refined. The characters seem to have a wide variety of expressions which tells their own stories. I rate 9/10

Characters : The interactions and chemistry both Yuzu and Mei shares as characters are undeniably sweet and moments like these are to cherish. The characters peronality fits perfectly and goes well with the setting they are in. As for character development personally I feel that there are definite but slow progress over the chapters but we definitely see Mei opening up and being more honest about her feelings despite being a strong Tsundere character. I rate 8/10

Overall : The twist and turns of this manga definitely brings the readers through a very exciting journey and experience. Its safe to say that as Citrus continues to update the connection between the characters and readers will only intensify, leaving the readers from weeping to squeling in delight over the cutest and sweetest interactions they share. I rate 8.5/10

Personal Opinion : This is the manga that introduced me to Yuri. This is an amazing manga to read and i would definitely recommend it to any first-time Yuri readers as it has all the perfect element for a good plot. We can't deny there has always been very few Yuri manga selection as it isn't a very popular genre with readers but for all i know Citrus is one of the best Yuri manga out there. Definitely worth a read.

Note : One very major-downside to this manga is the very slow updates. I would rather save up the updated chapters and binge read them rather than read them as soon as they are updated.
