yeah air gear is amazing it is funny all the way through so you should enjoy it. fate/stay night is addictive at the start as black cat was but doesn't get rubbish after 7 episodes. if that makes sense? it has a good plot and great magic/action/charachters.at one point i would have said it was my favorite as well but i have met people who didn't think much of it.

well with fruits basket i liked it and it was mainly for the characters and that it was quite funny
i think it is mainly so loved by everyone is because until ouran you didn't really see much comedy in that sense, well mainstream comedy in the west and i am sure a lot of people saw that first before a lot of other anime in the same genre.
it really doesn't compare to host club though
another anime you may enjoy is FLCL but don't expect it to be something it is not, if you like it you will love it if you don't well you don't
