Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord

Apr 2, 2024

A very solid isekai in my opinion. It's rather original (creative?) despite the genre, and it stays interesting throughout. I'm looking forward to the rest of the story! Be it a second season or if I have to check out the LN/Manga. The ratings are my ratings. Yes, that's a sentence.

Classroom of the Elite 3rd Season

Mar 31, 2024

For some unknown reason, I really love Anime which feature sociopathic protagonists. I guess part of the reason could be because I always hope for the character, who in this case is very intelligent, to come to the conclusion that the fact they struggle to feel emotions is so abnormal in itself, that it may not be something that's "fixable" through simply learning more about it through "research". I wish to see how our MC will develop throughout the series, and I will probably pursue the source material very soon in order to find out faster whether he will learn to smile, or not, or... KonoSuba: An Explosion on this Wonderful World!

Mar 28, 2024

While this is definitely a good story, I think that the characters are the strongest element to it. I absolutely LOVE the characters in this anime. My least favourite character may be Darkness, but I still love her too. Each and every character adds something amazing to the story, be it good comedy or unexpected plot twists. The voice acting is amazing too of course. The personality that this anime has as a whole makes me want to keep coming back. I am guessing that KonoSuba will be my most re-watched anime of all anime out there, because it's just an awesome journey no matter if you know what's going to... See full review

The Wrong Way to use Healing Magic

Mar 20, 2024

NO SPOILERS: I really liked this anime. As generic and unoriginal as it may have been, it was actually very enjoyable, and it was sufficiently good to make me want to check out the source material for it. I think that this is exactly what the isekai genre should be - NOT some poor quality anti-promotion material (promotion material that makes you want to AVOID looking into the respective mangas or light-novels) - but instead, a really decent 'medium' to convey a story, and in a very digestible and easy-to-watch manner at that. The isekai part is basically irrelevant to the story. When I find an... See full review

The Faraway Paladin 2nd Season

Mar 13, 2024

A very solid season. I can't really think of much to say outside of the final boss fight (Spoilers ahead). I don't know if it's just me but I grew up starting off with anime that have rather high-quality fight scenes. Where you don't necessarily get music or some epic finale. The fight scenes I typically see in my anime are often drawn-out, long, sometimes they end up in a tie. For this reason, whenever I do see a more average fight scene, it always makes me wonder "but wouldn''t it be better if it was more slow and gruesome? Or at least more drawn out?". I understand that in order to stay... See full review

The Promised Neverland

Mar 9, 2024

To be honest, I just didn't see the appeal. This anime uses some very overused concepts and doesn't even "re-master" them properly. While I did enjoy the anime, Tengoku Daimakyou in my opinion did things much better. This anime, conceptually appears to not only be unoriginal, but also rather flawed and unrealistic. What should be happening is these kids should be getting KILLED OFF. And yet conveniently nothing happens that actually ends them all. In Tengoku Daimakyou, at the very least the main characters have POWERS or EQUIPMENT that allows them to FIGHT BACK against their enemies. Here the... See full review

Reign of the Seven Spellblades

Jan 16, 2024

An above-average anime due to the plethora of characters, many of which have had some backstory provided to them. However, there's only one other good/unique thing about this anime and it's that the final arc of this season was pretty unique and interesting. But besides that, I cannot think of any other good things about this anime. I enjoyed it, but I did feel slightly bored at times. I think the only reason anyone should seek the source material is to make sure that this adaptation wasn't bad in comparison to the source material, because oftentimes that's a very real possibility. 5.5/10

A Returner's Magic Should Be Special

Jan 16, 2024

Pretty average anime but what makes it slightly different (in my opinion) is that it was a rather pleasant anime to watch. I was not bored at all while watching it, even though the events that unfolded were primarily ones that I've already seen a million times in other anime. Why is that? Probably because this anime always made me look forward to something. Extremely basic and cliche story, however the characters were all good, and all the cliches that I dislike the most did not take place in this anime. People are saying that it's a pretty bad Anime adaptation. So I'm inclined to try and check out the... See full review

Fairy Tail: Final Season

Jan 4, 2024

I found the final season to be the worst out of the entire series, mostly because Acknologia was a completely over-hyped and over-exaggerated boss, and the extreme repetition persisted throughout. The final fight scene was basically this -  1. Dragon slayers throw a few punches and get sent flying a few times. 2. Wendy boosts their physical stats, nothing changes. 3. Then all the dragon slayers send their magic for Natsu to use, and then he kills Acknologia with just one single punch. This was so crazy, I forgot to feel amazed (Sarcasmmmmmm) This is the most underwhelming final boss scene in... See full review

Dead Mount Death Play: Part II

Dec 27, 2023

Overall this season was pretty okay. It's clearly meant to serve as buildup for the next season. Honestly not much to say about this season because it's just regular buildup you see in many Anime, so what I would want to talk about are the characters instead. I think that the development we see with the protagonist and how he's steering away from "current peace" to taking actions to make peace "in the future" is a very interesting development, and I think it's definitely going to make the next season much more interesting. I think Misaki is just as cool of a character. While the... See full review

Namakura Gatana

Dec 22, 2023

For its historical significance, I have to give this animation a 10/10. Obviously, with the technology they had available at the time, it COULD have been better, but the goal obviously wasn't to make it some serious project. The goal here was more of a 'proof of concept', and rating the movie based off of the animation itself would make 0 sense. But despite that, it was still a decent attempt IMO. They had no reason to make it 3 whole minutes or however long it was. I think just the fact that we can watch this on the internet is already amazing enough. I'm sure there's animations that were lost to... See full review

The self-aware parody cringefest shitshow is back at it again. I fucking love this anime. This is one of the few anime that are factually nothing less than a 10/10. Ragna Crimson

Dec 21, 2023

Interesting characters, however the story just seems like a watered-down version of much better and older anime out there. There is no reason to watch this anime over anime like Hunter x Hunter, Naruto, Bleach, etc. You will find infinitely more enjoyment even RE-watching those anime over this one. This anime tries to be cool and edgy but the way things are animated and presented just make for a rather underwhelming experience. Things not only aren't dramatic enough, but yet again we get an emotionless protagonist, and Crimson just doesn't feel like that impressive of a character. The execution of... See full review

Berserk of Gluttony

Dec 18, 2023

A slightly below-average anime with slightly more plot holes and nonsensical things occurring in comparison to other similar anime of this type. Things I liked about it: - The sword and gluttony skills. - Protagonist's equipment eventually becomes cool and edgy (the protagonist never stops looking like a wuss though).  - Things I disliked: - The main protagonist is a dumb SIMP. As I was reading the comments about this anime, many people were going like "Oh sure hope the protag doesn't end up being another SIMP loser". Their prediction was of course completely accurate, and the entire... See full review

Undead Unluck

Dec 17, 2023

Not really that unique or original of an anime but is different enough to be as enjoyable as most Shounen anime. You'll love it if you're newer to Anime, but you'll just use it to kill some time if you're an experienced Anime fan. Nothing too mind-blowing, but the animation is good and only the girl protagonist is annoying which makes the anime bearable. Honestly, not sure what's up with her. She's embarrassed and blushing in almost every scene, which just makes her voice also annoying as a result. If not for that, it would be a completely average Shounen Anime. Not average if you actually get... See full review

World, Before You End

Dec 14, 2023

It's a really interesting movie. Much better than a lot of the stuff out there. The animation is very "abstract" and the budget for it is minimal, but the story is unique, and inspired from the circumstances that people had to live through when Coronavirus has hit the world. I personally dislike stories that don't really "go" anywhere, but this movie is original enough to the point where I really enjoyed it despite the ambiguous ending and the lack of any second movie potential. It's simply a nice quick watch. A remake for this movie would definitely be nice, and it would be cool if... See full review

The Dreaming Boy is a Realist

Nov 15, 2023

Spoiler-free review, sadly can't talk about anything too specific this way, will be mostly talking about the first episode or two: As with most slice-of-life anime, you really shouldn't set your expectations too high. This anime leaves much to be desired, but at the same time, this isn't some fantasy work of fiction where the possibilities are endless and the story can be taken to the extremes. This is a chill slice-of-life anime about two teens who have no idea what love is like, but end up falling in love. As always, it's based around school and work, I don't hate unoriginality in these aspects, but... See full review

TenPuru

Nov 10, 2023

I like this show, however the story progression is really bad. We barely get any development even towards the end of the anime. This is typical for anime that only consist of 12 episodes, and while many anime don't make it clear whether 12 episodes may have been enough to fit in the canon story, this time it is at least clear to me that they could have delegated the time a little bit more wisely and given us far more story progress if they simply chose to. Many episodes are practically filler, even if they may be classed as "canon" + there's many misunderstandings that do not advance the story in... See full review

Am I Actually the Strongest?

Oct 23, 2023

Went from a potential 8/10 to a 4/10. Sadly, the Anime did not turn out to be nearly as good overall as it seemed to be at the beginning. At this point, it's just a goofy Anime with a goofy plot. Even without the "round table meetings" and even if the MC stopped those meetings immediately, it still would've been goofy. Most of this season was practically filler, and even if there's a strict definition of what "filler" is, it's still practically that, because we don't actually get much story progression, and while we may expect the story to progress more in the second season, the fact... Made in Abyss

Sep 25, 2023

NOTHING will satisfy anime "fans". I am the kind of person who rarely finishes an anime if the artstyle isn't to my liking. To me, the appeal of anime is the VISUAL experience, and if an anime is not up-to-par with my standards, I move on to the source material. Made in Abyss is an anime that quite literally has the kind of artstyle I hate. Yet, it was the story that made me watch all of it. I literally couldn't stop watching. Why? Because unlike a lot of inexperienced anime fans, I have enough common sense to recognise when a story is TOO GOOD, versus when a story is cliche and... See full review

The Executioner and Her Way of Life

Sep 24, 2023

(1st Episode spoilers, this applies to other reviews too, but they don't warn you...) Well, this anime DOES do something differently. I'm ngl the initial killing of the 1st guy was a bit pointless IMO, even if was unexpected and sad. I feel like this anime was missing something, and that may have been the character they initially killed off. I think the anime may have been more interesting if there was another character with powers who tagged along for the journey, and instead wasn't killed off right away. OR the anime would have been more interesting if THEY ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING WITH THAT CRUEL KILLING... See full review

The Great Cleric

Sep 22, 2023

A rather average anime with some small things being done differently, but overall there aren't very many noteworthy things to say about this anime. The protagonist is always weak and normal, and there's logical inconsistencies such as how for some reason everyone is stronger than the protagonist, and yet he is the only one who is able to pass the labyrinth??? I thought he wasn't the only one exploring it. So basically we're left to assume that he's one of the few people actually risking their life down there. And then there's stuff like how somehow it takes him an entire week to simply lob off the... Call of the Night

Sep 15, 2023

Very solid anime with a very pleasant to look at artstyle, nothing I've ever seen before, though if you're the kind of person to complain about fictional age gaps then you probably don't wanna watch this. If you can't just do the same thing the author did, but just imagine that they're actually 18+, or if you can't simply stop caring about insignificant irrelevant details in a fictional story, that aren't really noteworthy elements of the story or anything, then you probably would want to stay away from watching Anime as a whole, because Anime in general is an art form that doesn't really have very... Arknights: Prelude to Dawn

Sep 14, 2023

Very basic story however still enjoyable. Sadly, despite appearances, there is literally nothing original here. If anyone is blown away by this anime, then they either have a mental disability, or they have never seen an anime in their life before, because this is as basic as storywriting will get. For a video game story, sure, it's probably really good. But for anime standards, this is quite literally average. The characters are 'somewhat' unique, but it's hard to feel attached to them when one barely talks due to their amnesia, and the other one is just a cute girl having the most cliche doubts of... (SPOILER-FREE REVIEW) Excellent Anime, and even more excellent voice acting I don't think an Anime has ever made me feel SADDER. But, I haven't really cried very much here, I dedicate that spot to 'Darling in the Franxx' when I was a hormonal teen, and 'Violet Evergarden' now that I'm an adult. I think the reason I didn't cry very much here is because this is an Anime that hits... a little bit too close to home. Of course, this was bound to happen. After watching anime for so many years, I was eventually going to stumble upon an Anime that so closely reflects something terrible that I, my friends... See full review

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Movie: Scarlet Bond

Sep 5, 2023

I hate how normal this movie was. Literally the only reason I'm rating this movie a 6/10 and not lower is because I overall love the characters and the universe, but this movie was utterly average, cliche, bad, typical, etc. I am probably one of the most disappointed fans out there because I was absolutely obsessed with the anime, amazed at the fact that the writer is actually creating a world that appeals to me PERFECTLY. I love the protagonist, the side-characters, I usually always have one thing that I dislike about an anime, as far as I was concerned, slime isekai was perfection. But, now I watched... Aug 18, 2023

I love the characters but for some reason I found the story insanely boring. Like, I was literally falling asleep. And this is coming from someone who enjoys anime about politics. For example, Slime isekai's 'politics discussion' arc where they spent 20 episodes just talking at a table was one of my favourite arcs! So, what went wrong here? I have no idea. I will try to re-watch this anime in the future, but at this moment, I only liked the characters and nothing else.

Summoned to Another World for a Second Time

Aug 15, 2023

This show is not underwhelming. Nuh-uh. This show is exactly what you'd expect after watching just a few episodes. Everything is extremely predictable, look at literally any aspect of this anime, and it's unoriginal to the point where you could literally write an accurate synopsis of this show without even having watched the rest of the anime. Cool edgy protagonist with big sword is back to this other world, he goes around revisiting his old friends whom conveniently are everywhere that he has business matters to attend to.
