Domestic Girlfriend

Oct 18, 2023

I didn't really know what I was getting into when I started this one, which is what usually happens when I start watching any anime. This was a love triangle that if they let it could of become a hexagon. This anime clearly shows some of the things we go through with feelings and things of the sort and there were some thoughts/deep feelings that I know I took in and understood well. "Art is born of suffering and sadness", but so is life. Storywise I enjoyed it and was understanding clearly what was going on and happening, just wasn't happy of the cliffhanger at the end and no following... See full review

Angel Cop

Jul 28, 2023

I went into this one not thinking to much other then I miss watching anime. It's been to long and I still have a long backlog of it. Anyway, I was delighted at this anime. It had the early animation which I always love, with the heavy dark outlines and great shading. Plenty of action, the story was good. The continuation to the next episode was smooth and didn't sidetrack from the original storyline. I watched the dubbed version and it was pretty good and as far as I know spot on. Really enjoyed the characters in it as well, my favorites being Asura and Angel, would of liked to see... See full review

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 6th Season

Oct 31, 2019

The stories in this season seemed ok, I don't know what it was, just didn't grab my attention as much. There were some stories I thought were good though: The Dripping, Tree of Innocence and Echoes are what I thought were the best. I was sad that the ending episode had nothing to do with the opening and ending credits like the previous seasons as well. Animation was in the same 2-D painting style we've come to know and love, so no change there. Opening and ending credits were great to see and hear, had some awesome music and the opening was so creepy as well. Only problem I had was... See full review

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 5th Season

Oct 29, 2019

This season was alright, some of it good and some of it just meh. Episodes seemed to fly by, only a couple stood out to me. The stories were seemed shorter in this season and only a couple of episodes to me stood out. Within those couple of episodes I thought had a good plot that could last within the short time frame. The one thing I have been loving about these seasons of Yamishibai is that the opening and ending credits had something to do with the final episode. Part of why I've been liking the story telling in this series as a whole. Animation is the 2d type, painting style that is so awesome for... See full review

When I got to the end of this it made my head hurt... The story for this is pretty unique from what I've watched so far and got really interesting starting about the middle of the series to the end, and like my first sentence says, the ending made my head hurt. It ended well, but it took a while to get there, in other words it started slow. All in all though I did like how it progressed and ended. Animation style in this one was great. Had some great color contrast and differences. Through a majority of the anime it was bright and happy, then in some episodes it was dark and broody when it needed to be... See full review

I've had this one on my back burner for a while and I finally watched the first season all the way. Story, at the start this one didn't really have a story plot, and I was kinda disappointed and at the same time not. The episodes made me laugh and it bypassed the whole reason of not having a story. Finally, got a plot going and I wanted to watch even more and was excited to see where it went. Other than that it was a laugh fest every episode. Animation style was pretty good. I liked the use of the colors and the designs for each characters. The only thing I could use without was the massive amounts of... See full review

MD Geist II: Death Force

Apr 26, 2019

Alright, going into this one I had already watched the first, and I was not disappointed, but I was also not excited about it either. Plot again in this one, is that there was not one. Once again it was like a mission, but even then it just turned into madness and then was pretty much done. Animation for me had no complaints, followed suit from the first one and seemed just fine. Plenty of explosions and disembowelments and what not to satisfy any one looking for it. Sound was alright. There was less than what was in the previous, so much that there was only an ending credits theme. The ending credits... See full review

MD Geist

Apr 26, 2019

Well I went into this one completely disregarding the reviews and rantings (as I usually do). I have to say I was not completely disappointed in this one. First off the plot...... there is not one. Well there is, but you don't find out what it is until about half-way through the movie and its more of a mission than a plot. The animation I loved. Dark, broody, some detail. Gave me Fist of the North Star feelings (well the entire movie did that). Sound was ok. There were some parts that didn't line up. The music was pretty good though. Didn't have any music during the movie, except near the end... See full review

The plot was fantastic on this one, starts out as just a boy and his extremely over complicated ultra smart thoughts and then WHEEE!!! fun plot. =-D Animation was spectacular! Everything was clean cut and bold, wonderful backgrounds as well. Sound was great, you could tell what was going on. Sound was crisp and clear, wonderful music throughout and a wonderful end credits song. Character development and interaction was good to see. Didn't need any background on any of the characters really, since it was kind of a mystery for one of them and the rest were all kids. Interaction between them all went... See full review

Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary

Apr 21, 2019

So I thought the plot for this one was very good and was very different from any of the Saint Seiya that I have watched so far. Had a good twist in even though you clearly already knew who the big bad was. Animation in this anime was fantastic! Even though this is a heavy CGI driven anime and not your classic style, it was very well done, everything ran smoothly and looked great. From battle scenes to the background it was all beautiful. The sound in this one was well done as well. It was crisp and clean throughout the entire movie. Music wise it could have been more, especially during the battle scenes... See full review

Apr 21, 2019

Plot for this one was pretty good along with the concept of the creatures. It was a basic plot though of the big bad wanting to take over the world at some point and be a god. I did like how the big bad barely got his hands dirty and had a good variety of people to do what needed to be done, but then again it is usually that way with that sort of plot, but it was kinda of different in this one. Animation was pretty good. The only complaint I have about this one is that some creatures had good detail to them and others did not, I would have liked if they stuck to one or the other. Soundtrack on here was... See full review

Tokyo Ghoul:re 2nd Season

Apr 18, 2019

The plot was good..... I guess? I was literally lost the entire first portion of this season. I knew who some characters were and somewhat knew what they were doing, but that didn't seem to help me. Then when the second half of the season was going I felt much better. Animation was fantastic as always, no disappointments there. Sound was great as well. Music wise, I wasn't to hyped up about the opening theme, but it was pretty good, as well as the ending them being good as well. Characters in this season were fantastic. I was glad to see familiar faces and new ones. Finding out where every one stood and... See full review

Bleach Movie 1: Memories of Nobody

Apr 14, 2019

Plot was a basic big bad/group abducts someone to get what they want and to hurt who they want. Of course this is Bleach so it has its twists. Not saying it was a bad plot, but it was ok. Animation was well done, nothing really new. Fight scenes were great as usual. Sound was good, was not fond of the first battle scene music with the hollow. I just don't think it fit with the movie/series. Ending theme was pretty good as well as the rest of the in movie music. Characters in this one were pretty good. In addition to the original series cast we get introduced to a new character as well as a new group. In... See full review

Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto

Apr 14, 2019

Plot for this one is an origin-ish story as well as the other OVA. It's how Gourmet met Chie Hori. Now I still don't like Gourmet, but he was such a freak I had to watch it and find out how he got her to basically work for him. Now I know. Animation was well done, no issues and same likes as the series. Sound, same likes as the series, and this OVA also has a wonderful ending theme as well. Character wise, as stated before, this OVA didn't make me like or hate Gourmet anymore or less, but it was good to see the interaction between him and Hori as well as take some interest in her as to let her... Apr 14, 2019

Plot for this one is good and straight forward, you already know your main characters if you've been watching Tokyo Ghoul. I liked this as an origin story and was pretty happy with it. Animation was awesome, great fight scenes as expected from the other Tokyo Ghoul series and wonderful dark and light contrasts. Sound was equally done well, everything was on point with an equally awesome ending theme. Again, character wise, if you have been watching the series you know them, but with this being an origin story you kinda understand them more and how Ghouls brought them together. Kinda. Apr 14, 2019

I like how the plot of this one was going, kept you wanting more after each episode and also doesn't really tell you who's good or bad even when the animation is showing you something else. Plot itself again was something different and more than likely a lot of people watching this one won't like it, it didn't mess with me too much, because every once in a while I want something different. Animation style in this I was not a fan of. I don't really see the need for a more CGI approach than an actual animation that looks draw when it comes to animated movies or series. I had the same issue with Cyborg... See full review

So the plot of this one was a good plot, I just think it should have equally shown both worlds and not such a one sided option to a particular world. I get why they did it though, you needed to see the main struggles of the main character Yumemi and understand what she is going through and why the decision she needs to make is such a hard one. Animation was in a style I love so there is no disappointment there. The brief battles scenes that were shown were great. Sound was very well done as well. I had to listen to the dubbed version and it was very good. Music throughout the OVA and the ending theme were... See full review

Digimon Adventure 02 Movie: The Golden Digimentals

Apr 1, 2019

The plot for this one felt like it was a laid back plot. Almost feels like it's a filler movie, didn't have much action, but was more about the journey and the bond between the digimon and the Destined. Animation was once again awesome in this movie. Had some great new techniques that were used for Chocomons powers. Sound wise was ok, couldn't get into any of the music really and the in movie music seemed to be some sort of western esque music. Characters meshed together well, at least the originals that we know. Took some time to get used to Wallace/Willis and Gummymon/Terriermon. The Golden Digimentals... See full review

Digimon Adventure Movie 2: Bokura no War Game

Apr 1, 2019

Plot for this one was a great plot. Instead of the main battle and situation taking place on the digital world it takes place in the real world, only looking through a computer. Still has the main characters and what not, just a slightly different playing field. I liked this plot a lot. It felt like a real situation, even though it wasn't, but something that could happen. Animation for this movie was awesome! Had the older style that I like along with what looks like early CGI (computer world and battles). Those combinations made this anime great. Sound as well was exceptional. Music throughout the movie... See full review

I wasn't to keen on this one, but I wanted to give it a chance and watch it all the way through. Unfortunately it still didn't get too much further for me then ok. Plot for this one has the main character wondering who he is and what is he supposed to be doing type of thing. During this journey he meets others like him, or used to be, and gets thrust into a situation he can't avoid and ultimately helps him as well as others in the process. Animation was a good style and I did like that a lot. Had a very different feel during the battle scenes. Sound was alright, just based on music. The opening sequence... See full review

Mar 27, 2019

Story was pretty good. Plot starts out as something that was instigated by that dirty old man Happosai and then turns out to be a fight for Akane. Animation was good, not going to much into this, if you've read some of my other reviews ya'll know I loves me the older style. Sound was ok, always something in the back of my mind for the older ones that I think the sound is a little off, but it did have some good Opening and ending themes. Story for this one was pretty straightforward and didn't stray from what it was going for. Old style animation is something I love, that gritty look and dark lines. Good stuff. =-) Music was ok, opening theme was really the only music there and was pretty catchy. Characters in this one were also ok. We had the strong coach figure and semi strong woman figures and the whiny main character..... uh whining is too much. So needless to say I was not fond of the main characters. Over all this one was ok, and I enjoyed the plot. I would have liked to see more of the enemies and better character development.

The plot of this one was something different and interesting. It's modern present day meets otherworldly ancient world(even though it's not our past). Not really a plot for this one, just shows events from the series, and then they can finally rest after everything they have gone through on a deserted island. Pretty good animation style and music. Pretty catchy main theme. Even if you haven't watched the series you know the characters have a history together and interact pretty well throughout the OVA. Over all, I would recommend watching this, but only after the series. Reason I scored it semi low is not that I was disappointed in it, but that I was disappointed in myself not noticing that it takes place after the series and didn't know what was going... I think it was very well done, though I don't think I will be able to get used to a pink naked chocobo. "-) Animation was older 90s style and I always love that style. Sound was equally fantastic, was a great song throughout the video and was fun to listen to. Not really a main plot in this season other than the characters getting to know each other and their experiences and then it all coming together at the end. Animation was good, I liked how the Underworld looked like traditional Japanese art style. Sound was good, both beginning and ending themes were a joy to listen to.
