What is it about Lumley that caught your attention? Is it just his writing style, or the way he mixes in alien concepts with modern horror archtypes? I like King a lot, and some of his stuff really varies, he can write traditional monster in the closet horror, or psychological terror equally well, and of course they appeal to different fans of horror. Some people are frightened by what lurks in the dark, others by the darkness that lurks within us all.

I started with the Necroscope series as well, but ended up like I often do with a  lot of authors and picked up his earlier books. Titus Crow was his first series as far as a know, and it is really good... I've read all of them, and they stay very true to the Cthulhu Mythos formula. None of them are very long books eiher and pretty quick to get through. His Dreamlands series is also pretty good. Are you interested in the works of H.P. Lovecraft, or just Lumley in particular?

I’m tempted to guess those eyes belong to Tanya, but I think I’m wrong. The lashes and hair look different. Whose eyes are these?

We're neck and neck this year so far!  :)

How did you end up liking Thunderbolt Fantasy?  I hope we get a third season or a new movie this year.  They seem to be cranking them out considering how much work it must be to make it.

Actually I think I am too wordy, and giant walls of text like that just put people to sleep. But yeah, thanks! I do love Lumley! Mostly I got involved because of his earlier Cthulhu Mythos works which I thought were excellent reading.. then of course came the Necroscope series which mixed the Cthulhu Mythos with Vampires and created a real interesting, if not twisted version of the bloodsuckers. I've read the complete series except for maybe the last book or two. It has been a while since I have picked up some of his stuff though... My main concentration in horror the last couple years was re-reading most of my other books, as well as jumping into a lot more fantasy and sci-fi.
