*This is going to be a quick review since HN is such a simple moe comedy anime. I simply don’t have a lot of things that really stood out. If I have to give something that I liked in this anime than it would be the use of chibi animation in certain scenes. Anime’s have to be really careful with chibi animation since it can be overdone very easily. But HN used chibi animation at the correct times and it elevated the silliness of those scenes.

*And if I have to point out a “negative” point than it would that the title Hinako Note doesn’t have anything to do with the main storyline. We see a diary in the transition scenes but it doesn’t have a role in this anime. Btw a true main storyline is also missing in this anime like in many simple comedy anime’s. But it’s always an extra positive point when a title of an anime has a big connection to the anime itself. See anime’s like AB! or Shigatsu where the title was as brilliant as the story that it contained.

Conclusion

So as a conclusion, HN isn’t an anime that I advice everyone to watch. This is a very lighthearted anime that you watch for the fun of it, when you don’t feel like watching an anime with a complicated storyline. So overall I’m going to rate Hinako Note at 3 stars. A normal rating for a normal anime.
