I'm a simple man, if it isn't 5 star its half a star, and if I find some parts good and other parts disgustingly bad, I give 2.5 star.
I give 5 stars to shows that I enjoyed, I don't really care about the innerworkings of a show, I am satisfied if it is entertaining enough for me to not drop it or hate it.
I give 0.5 stars to shows that were unenjoyable.

No real reason why. Hunter x Hunter comes highly recommended and is generally well-thought of. I cannot say I am really a fan of shounen, but I do plan to watch it some day.
