This anime actually made me sad... I was hungry for a cool, dark story, something like Goblin Slayer so I checked out the first episode of Arifureta. It was great, and I was really happy that I found exactly what I was looking for - a dark, edgy anime with a cool protagonist who grows in power in order to survive and clear a huge dungeon filled with vicious monsters. Story This anime left me with alot of mixed feelings. I started to watch this anime as a joke, because it looked so bad and cheesy from the poster and the rating. But at the end of it I couldn't stop watching it. Dont get me wrong - the story is an absolute mindfuck, but the relationships of the characters is the thing that keeps you watching. I mean...just try to think about the first episode and tell me that the plot isn't absolutely ridiculous. This anime started off great! I was really intrigued by the story - god has abandoned the world and now people can't die even when lethally injured so insted they turn into the deceased. Now the living and the deceased have to try to live together and the only way for them to really die is to be buried by the gods final gift to humanity - the gravekeepers. Sounds like a really promising plot right? Well, this anime does nothing with this interesting setup and instead we are introduced to our main character - Ai.
