Fast Forward

May 5, 2022

I really liked the concept. And it started with a bang. The very first episode was made with such genius, that by the time you reach the end of it, you are on the edge, boggled & can't wait to read the next episode.
The creators really knew how to keep us on the edge. The characters were great. Specifically loved how they were designed - Suhanxoxo. It had a really nice pace. the first half of the story had a great pace. A bit fast but not enough to make you feel lost. But the ending feels very rushed. It is a good ending. But after chapter 46, it felt as if the story Fast Forwarded itself. We had... See full review

All Of Us Are Dead

Apr 20, 2022

I read this after watching a few of the episodes from the adaptation - this webtoon got a Netflix adaptation, same title. A must-watch for zombie lovers. The story is good. It was written in 2009 so we get a few references from that time frame. Especially in the character designs. Character designs are okay. Not great or bad just nothing to boast about. The art is normal. It isn't great or bad. This is the type of webtoon where it is the story itself is so good that people don't care how the art itself is.  The plot is thought out and really makes you root for the characters. As you read you... See full review

The First Night With the Duke

Apr 6, 2022

This is a classic example of don't judge a webtoon after reading the first three chapters.  You have to stick to it and read the whole thing to understand and enjoy it. The story itself is not grand or something very unique. But it is its execution of it that had made me give it a high rating. Specifically how the author twists the facts in the first half of the story. Almost made me drop it. But I kept on reading and well, apparently there was a reason.  The characters are what makes this webtoon so good and addicting. Flawed and bad. The character growth that we have here is honestly... The Makeup Remover

Mar 14, 2022

A story with a message.  It dealts with our perception of make-up and other modes used for 'Beautification' and how society drives us to use them but also gives backlashes if we do use them.  The story isn't subtle. IT goes directly in it. I loved that part. And it isn't just the main characters who go through the growth, the side characters also evolve and their stories also get resolved in the end, so no one was left hanging.  The ending felt a little meh to me. It was a good ending for the characters and an understandable one. But it felt rushed for a story that was so elaborated as... See full review

My ID is Gangnam Beauty

Mar 8, 2022

I actually watched the drama based on this, in 2019 and I really liked how the story went there. So When I found out that Line Webtoon officially translated this webtoon on their English app, I just had to read it.  When I started I didn't have much high hope as I already knew how the story might be considering that I had watched the drama already. But the Webtoon still made me surprised.  The drama was basically a water-down version. Because the webtoon tackles some really important topics and I absolutely LOVED how the author handled it here.  The webtoon is also very cute. The romance... See full review

She Would Never Know

Feb 25, 2022

"THE CHARACTER RATE BELONGS TO SONGHA ONLY" Well, this was a quick read. I started this yesterday seeing that it will be on Daily Pass since march 31st. It has 50 chapters and took me a day to finish. Honestly, I didn't really enjoy it much. The male characters were not my favorite. The crazy guy was for the shit-and-giggles and he did just that. But the actually Male Lead, I didn't like him much in the beginning and that impression stayed throughout the story.  I liked Songha. She is one that carried the whole webtoon on her back. She was bold and strong. Honestly, it would have been a... See full review

Swimming Lessons for a Mermaid

Feb 22, 2022

Ah, this was a great read. For me it started slow, I was very wishy-washy while reading the first 20 chapters(probably cause I was reading a book that I was immersed in) but when I actually sat down and started, I finished the whole thing in a day. I just couldn't stop. It was so fluffy and cute. The characters were nice, sweet & the relationship between themselves is beautifully written.
My favorite character is the dad - probably the nicest dad ever written and Chen- my dude is pure comedy.
I also loved the ending. It isn't the happy ending in your face but a gesture of how their happy... See full review

My Deepest Secret

Jan 25, 2022

When I started reading this, I already knew two of the biggest twist that this had to offer. So I knew going in that that will affect how much I enjoy the story.
That being said, the author continued to surprise me with new twists and turns. One of the best things about MDS is that it is very well thought out. There aren't any plotholes in the storyline. The author had thought and planned it out well before even starting this webtoon. So it really ties up nicely in the end. A smooth finish.
But it was the ending, that made me give this a 10.
The ending was something that, I didn't think the... See full review

Cheese in the Trap

Nov 29, 2021

This was my first webtoon. I started this back in 2016 but then didn't continue after chapter 20.  I am glad that I went back and read, even though it is late. Because it is one of the best webtoons I ever had the opportunity to read. There is not a single panel in this webtoon that isn't relevant.  This is a story that you have to binge read to fully understand the amount of planning the author has done. everything is relevant, everything comes back, in the end, to make the story complete.  When I got to season 4 and suddenly everything starts to make sense, you have that big brain... Unholy Blood

Nov 27, 2021

If I could I would have never let this finish. One of the things that make webtoon such a treat to read is this you can experience the whole thing through the writing, the dialogue, the art, and the colors in them. And Unholy Blood was the most perfect child of all these combined. The story was well thought out and planned. Because of this as you read you can slowly feel the build-up. There were no plot holes. The art was gorgeous and the way the creator planned out so many metaphors in the panels to get the nuance across to us. There were hidden meanings and references and as a reader and as someone who... See full review

Age Matters

Nov 19, 2021

Was expecting a lot as it was one of the top 5 romance webtoons in Line English Webtoon app. The story has a good idea behind it but is poorly executed. There are plot holes everywhere. As I binged, I could see them so clearly. If I read them weekly it probably would have been less noticeable. There is no character development for Rose, our MC. I liked how Daniel's character grew. And Dylan and Ruby were excellent characters that deserve more. Waiting for the side stories to see, what the author will be doing with them. The official ending for the main couple was very anti-climatic. The big mystery and... See full review

Hooky

Oct 26, 2021

I was reluctant to start this one. But thanks to & I finally started and what a ride it was! Miriam takes us on a journey that touches all the aspects of our life. From friendship to falling in love to the pain of losing your family to fight for what you know is right, to finding peace that is the journey you will find yourself in if you start to read Hooky.  The art style is colorful and bright which goes well with the tone of the story but at the same time, it is antithetical to the actual theme of the webtoon. Which I think is brilliant! To be able to trick your readers into a false... See full review

Super Secret

Oct 26, 2021

It is cute.  The very first thought that came to our mind when we started to read Super Secret, was that it was cute. Beyond cute if possible.  What if your best friend is a werewolf and he is keeping it a secret from you. Also, his whole family consists of a witch, a nine-tail fox a Frankenstein's monster, and a divine goddess. Oh, he is also in love with you.  What will you do then? This is the premise of Super Secret.  It is sweet and very cute, if you love/ enjoy fluffy stories then you will love this. The story plot is lighthearted but with the right dose of tears here... Grasp

This is one of the most tragic stories I got to read. The thriller aspect is more psychological.  It has a good amount of mystery. It is a short webtoon and the monochrome color set is makes it more mysterious.  There are few loose ends. The author tried to tie them together through some made sense but most are implied so if you aren't paying attention at the end few chapters it would feel like it has skipped those places. I really liked the ending. It was very bittersweet and the moral was on point. Since it is a short story, it will be an easy read.

The Horizon

Sep 12, 2021

Depression in a webtoon. That is an easy way to describe this. But it is also hopeful, like how we as human beings are in the end.

We always try to find the silver lining in the most unfitted places and this story in its own way is filled with that. Hope and despair.

Her Bucket List

Aug 18, 2021

It is a short slight angsty- sweet story. It tackles with suicidal thoughts, so it is a warning for those who don't want to read stuff like that. The story overall was nice. Not really complicated but really well-paced. I loved the characters. They were strong and their presence was bold. It was kinda anticlimactic. There was a huge build-up for a certain thing but nothing really happened. The ending felt a little like fan service, but it was nice. Overall a nice read if you are looking for something simple and good to read.

Yuna & Kawachan

Jul 12, 2021

We have a small cast of characters who are just trying to survive, without getting eaten by the monsters that have come out of nowhere.

Strong characters & great character development -won't name him cause don't wanna spoil but our boy had the most natural & real character development ever!

The art is cute & the pinkish tone in the overall color palette is lovely.

All that being said, the ending did felt unsatisfying.

Nevertheless

Jul 9, 2021

The story is a refreshing take on relationships. We have so many webtoons about how sweet love is and nevertheless, just gives us a perspective of what a real-toxic relationship is like. What was interesting was how the butterfly was used as a metaphor here.  And how it explained the theme, without pushing the idea down our throat.  I really enjoyed this. If you like to read something different, then this is definitely it! Don't expect any sweet stuffs here though.

Dear X

Jul 9, 2021

I love reading thrillers and horror. So I always thought I have a tough skin, it didn't matter what the author throws at me.
I was very wrong. This story made me uncomfortable. It crawled over my skin in a way that made me feel repulsive but I kept on reading because it was addicting.  It probably is one of the best psychological thrillers I have the opportunity to read. The mind of sociopaths and the destruction that they cause. The story is bittersweet and a hell of a ride! 100% recommend it! Gourmet Hound

Jun 29, 2021

A lot of time we read stories that remind us of ourselves.
That hopelessly looking for something knowing that, it might be impossible to find. Gourmet Hound makes us feel like that. It is a story about a woman named Lucy who is trying to find a chef who used to cook in her favorite restaurant. Whose food reminds her of the family she lost. And on this journey to find that lost taste she finds a new family for herself. The story is amazingly well written. The way a specific taste is used to describe lost time, that past we can never go back to new recipes, taste & flavor used to symbolize the... See full review

First of all, the art is gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful. The dark monochrome colors in contrast with bright red in the palette are exquisite. It is one of my favorite. The story is just as great. It is a vampire story without the usual cliches. Has great characters and a plot. the story doesn't drag and the flow is just perfect.
It has horror elements in the art that really kept me up the night I first read it.
Will recommend it to all if you like a good story.

Cape of Spirits

Jun 3, 2021

Cape of Spirits is a short action & sci-fi webtoon that follows Jinsei an ex-prince who is on the run. To clear his name & to save the world he teams up with a group of mischief. Friends became foe & foes became friends as he tries to save his only family and the world.
Together can they save the world from being destroyed?
The story starts in the middle of the climax and that was such a genius move from the author's side as from the very first chapter you are hooked. It does explain what happens before the climax with flashbacks. And those flashbacks are short and in between the part... See full review

Epilogue

Jun 3, 2021

This was a good one. I love thrillers and this fits my taste. The art and the color palette added to the eerieness of the story, which really set the mood.
It is somewhat well written though it leaves us with a little cliffhanger at the end. Maybe the author will do a part 2 - though it seems most likely not.
The ending twist was ....wow, did not saw that coming at all.
Would definitely recommend if you love thriller and murder/murders.

Non Sopiler Review A story about being a hero and living long enough to see people think of you as a villain.
The story is compelling. And once you start- after the first few chapters - you can not stop reading. It delt perfectly with the gray area of our morality. There is a mention of bullying and animal abuse, so if you are sensitive to those you might reconsider reading it.
I enjoyed this a lot. Especially seeing how the characters come to their conclusion. That was definitely one of our favorite arcs.
The author really tormented the protagonists, so much so it kinda seemed like they had... See full review

His Barcode Tattoo

Apr 9, 2021

With the help of this beautiful art, the webtoon provided us with a better reading experience than the novel could. But the core problems that plagued the novel -fast pace, no character development, lack of secondary characters or their purpose, cliched and dramatic plot twists that changed halfway in the story changing into something new, and lack of consequences in anything- migrated also to the webtoon, which leaves a bitter aftertaste as one reads them.
So check out the webtoon for the beautiful art done by the artist. Not for the story which was poorly written, especially the novel that it was based... See full review

Devil Number 4

Apr 1, 2021

Things that stood out to me in this webtoon. One is the plot. It is the type of story that, the more you read it the more you find out how much thought and planning went on this from the author. Because there are lot of foreshadowing in the early chapters about what might happen in the later half. Which I loved. A lot of world building went on it and the concept behind this Webtoon was interesting. I really liked that. A story to binge read. I read it in three days. And that really made me appreciate the plot and the planning done by the author even more.

Mosquito Wars

Mar 28, 2021

Short review : The story is amazing. It is something that the author wrote with the intention of making it as absurd as possible. And it was. But at the same time it wasn't totally off its rokets.  It is pure comedy with philosophy in mixed. The mosquitoes works as mirrors here. They saw the human violence and mirrored it. A really unique/crazy concept but brilliantly shown. The art was good. And I liked how the characters weren't from our normal troops.  It was very refreshing to read. Enjoyed it a lot!

Jan 25, 2021

I would have rated it higher but the ending seems loose.
I don't mind open ending but this webtoon could had been longer to provide a little bit clouser to us & to the characters.
If the author does a season 2 & if that was the reason for this ending then I'll give this a 9, because it would be a perfect place to start the new season. But we haven't seen any confirmation about it. I liked the characters. Specially the lack of 'male leads' to fix the problems. That was very refreshing. The female characters were both strong & empowered. I loved that.  It is a good read. It is... See full review
