Initially, I thought this was Netflix version of Megalo Box due to the similarities between the sports and the likeness of some of the characters like Gansaku & Zack, both trainers with a patch on their opposite eye; but that is where the similarities end, this show has a different plot and focus.

The story, similar to other sports animes is mostly about climbing the ladder and is adorned with interesting sci-fi elements, boxing action & techniques, world-building, and later evolves to include a story of redemption that marks how much Levius has worked to overcome his weakness, and how this preparation has given him a chance to redeem himself from the ghosts of his past. Would he be able to do it?

The animation is one of the aspects of the show that helps bring it above average. Is not just that the 3d animation technology from Polygon Pictures has advanced enough to create something beautiful, but their aesthetics, their choice of composition for every scene, the fluidity of movement that still lets you keep track of the action, the steampunk style of the characters and their world, colors, textures, etc. Everything is visually pleasing.

The music is also an excellent choice for the series with good sound effects.

The supporting characters may be even more likable than the protagonist and play a big role in his development, they also help to bring balance to a rather dull protagonist.

The dub is great!

7/10 story
