This review will be done in two parts; the first will just be the anime, from the storyline to the sound, and animation. The second will be on what kind of message this anime is sending to society.

Part 1:

Storyline - It's a somewhat typical reverse-harem set up. The main girl gets sent to live with (and eventually marry) a group of vampires. Along the way, it is found that her true meaning for being there is to be a sacrifice of sorts to become the body of the vampire's mother. Apparently, the mother abused the vampires when they were children, the children vampires then proceeded to kill their mother. Oh....did I also mention that the vampires verbally/phisically abuse, imply rape, and generally mistreat the lead? In every single episode? Even attempt to do the first to theeir mother? No?

Sound - It's alright. The opening is not bad; nor is the ending. The VA's did an excellent job with the shouts of "No!", "What are you doing?!", and the like. They also did excellent work with the sounds of licking and associated sounds. You know, for the biting.

Animation - This was not bad. While certainly not the best in the world, it does have some strong points. The atypical, almost watercolour style was very nice. This was possibly the best part of the entire anime.

Overall: Maybe it has something to do with me not being part of the demographic; I just couldn't see this as good, as is evidence below. But, if you are looking for a reverse harem based upon a game, or want something to rage over, then this is for you!

Part 2:

Alright. This was an absolutely horrendous anime; for a variety of reasons. The least of which was the story. While the story was bad on it's own, it was the copious amounts of abuse/violence/implied rape that really made things stand out. Now...you may be asking right now...."Why does that even matter BP? It's just fiction."

The fiction part. Just because it's fiction does not mean it's alright. First off....what do you think this signifies with the way it is? The entire series more or less blatantly states that no matter how you treat a woman, they will always come back to you. It's true - look in episode 11 for instace. In that ep., it is shown that the main still has feelings for the vampire with the hat; even though he had violently attacked her multiple times throughout the entire series. Essentially this series makes light of violence towards women....in the worst way possible. Making it in the form of a 'romance'. On the other hand, it is more or less stating that violence towards women/gender sterotypes (women are to be submissive to men) is alright. No....no it is not. It is not alright in the slightest sense; give an inch and it can become a mile. (Or centimeter and kilometer for those outside the U.S.). Oh...and for those of you thinking that this is in some way linked to one of the various subcultures, you have another thing coming. It's not. Not even in the slightest idea; if anything, the anime furthers the misunderstandings that many people have of such a subculture. So, please....educate yourself...there's a pretty good article on Wiki that cleared it up for me, so.....

So....if you're fine with the implied rape and general misgivings towards women, then this is fine for you. If not.....then have a better use of fifteen minutes. There's no vampires, implied rape, or any of it. Better sound as well.

1.5/10 story
