To answer your question (which, I know, was meant to be rhetorical), I've not seen either of the shows you mentioned, but I'm guessing from your tone that the answer would probably be..."no"?
Well...unless, of course, I saw something making those two things comparable--such as I do with Toradora and Scum's Wish.
Specifically--and I realize I didn't spell this out in my review--I'm talking about the premise: two people who discover the other's crush and come together to help with those crushes. (Yes, the methodologies diverge somewhat widely after that, but...I mean, I did say "darker" and with "sexy time.") Also, how they both, from my perspective at least, leave you with little dramatic morsels at the end of each episode that make you want to immediately get to the next one to see what happens.
That said, I safely prefer Toradora, of the two, if that matters. I think it's an all-around better show. But I also think you can get the same kind of pull from one that you can from the other. That they approach the subject matter in different ways (a pure love versus a tainted love) just didn't strike me as being quite as significant as it did to you, I suppose, in terms of comparisons.
