Oct 14, 2009I really really wanted to like this show. Sadly it didn't end up that way. I didn't see the purpose of their pacing. It is one of the slowest shows I've seen. If you are going to make something have a slow pace, then you need to do it right. I think they didn't do it right at all. I kept falling asleep so by the end of the show I literally had no idea what was going on. Th ending seemed kind of cool, but like I said, I had no idea what was happening. I would need to watch it again to catch the stuff I slept through, but I really don't want to have to sit through it again.
It really felt like they were really trying to make it like Evangelion. The enemies, and general feel of the show reminded me of it. They even tried going for the screwed up ending that made no sense.
In the end I thought it could have been an amazing show, but they tried too hard to make it like something instead of letting it be it's own thing.

EvaXephon, check it out. Its more like it draws a lot of things from Eva as an homage to a series, rather than outright stealing a plot. I enjoyed this more, probably because it was less confusing and more coherent (Eva drastically changed halfway through, but this stayed constant as far as theme/plot).
Too bad Eva didn't look as good as this did, though.
That's pretty much exactly how I felt about this series...I really tried to watch it and take it for what it is... but is so much like NGE it's almost insulting
