What happens with Alicia had to be one of only things I'm upset about. >< No one is possibly good enough for her!

Akari's personality makes me wonder about her life back on ManHome, actually. By all accounts it seems that ManHome's much like the world we know and Neo Venezia is magical in how everyone's nice to each other. I doubt Akari had a sudden personality change when she moved, which has to be the best decision she's ever made. Her blind trust would've gotten her into trouble back on ManHome...

It's what draws people to her, though, and probably why I enjoy watching Akari and ARIA so much. Neo Venezia's a place where someone like her can survive and actually flourish. I remember watching that and trying to imitate her in noticing the little things in life, but it's pretty hard.

As for headless woman: man was that episode a change of pace. It's one of the few wake-up calls that even Neo Venezia can't be perfect, since only Cait Sith managed to prevent something worse from happening.

(Pausing from ARIA raving for a bit, I see you're also watching Clannad. Let me know how that turns out, since Clannad and ARIA are pretty much the only shows that have ever made me cry. Manly tears, obviously. ;)

Ahaha, you're already ahead of me about the DVDs then. I've been waiting to get all of them at once from Rightstuf's online store, since I get free shipping that way. I haven't seen any of the extras, so I'm really looking forward to those.

I remember seeing President Aria and wondering what the heck he was supposed to be. ^^; Once I got past that he was lightly amusing, which describes most of the show while I'm at it.

Akari, Alicia, Alice. Those are my favourite three, and in that order. It's easy to develop an attachment to all of them, but these are my clear favourites. As for episodes...hmm. I don't want to spoil anything, but I don't remember which ones you'd have watched already! ARIA doesn't exactly lend itself to linear narrative progression. xP

My favourites are really the ones where other people notice how amazing Akari is. Akari's speed when rowing backwards, when she's first introduced to Alice, when Alice and Aika follow her around to see how she makes friends (the puppet-show episode). I'm pretty sure you haven't gotten there, but also an episode where she works with other undine trainees (not Aika or Alice). And yes, the ending of Origination is beautiful, but I'll keep my mouth shut.

If I could drop a side note, I also really appreciate the way the opening theme songs are part of the actual episode. Gives us a slow, calm start to adjust to the mood, without any awkward transitions.

Stepping on shadows = something I totally did when I was younger. >_> ARIA's slow for a lot of people, but I find it's usually love it or hate it. That episode in Animation where the 3 Fairies sit around the fire and chat about how they met? That kind of bittersweet memory, where your dreams as you grow up distance you from childhood friends, is something completely relatable.

And I think by now I have proven that I enjoy gushing about ARIA as much as you do, so we're even. Friend-adding returned. xP

Oh man, on your first run-through? I remember mine - I ended up marathoning all three seasons over the course of a couple days. I was lucky finals for school had just ended. Akari is honestly the only character I would unashamedly call myself a fanboy for.

Speaking of owning anime, by the way, this is a sweet time for Aria fans - Rightstuf is releasing the final DVD set, Aria the Origination March 16! I'm going to order everything from Animation up to Origination once it's out. I own just about no anime, but this I can't pass up.

This is patently random, but I hereby declare you win awesome points for being a fellow ARIA fan. Aria the Natural, no less! xD

Welcome to the moderation team!

Your descriptions seem to be a pretty good starting point, but could use some (minor) work on flow. I responded to the Alice CARROLL thread in "Character Submissions" with the changes I'd have made. Given that you already have a feel for what goes into a description, if we just work on your aethetics a touch, you should be able to become description-enabled soon.

Thanks for the hard work,

ThePatches
