When you first watch this, you probably won't like it. It's literaly absurd: the goal is to confuse and be incomprehensible. However, when you concentrate on the hard and the message of this movie rather than understanding the story... It can be pretty good! It's entertaining and makes you think about technology's limits and what is moral or not. The story, as I said before, does not need to be understood completly. For the animation, as a Satoshi Kon movie, it's impressive, incredible and entertaining. The character designs are pretty much perfect! Plus, the music fit the different moods very well and the... Monster

Jan 14, 2022

The story is interesting from the beginning to the end, despite sometimes being too slow for its own good (Or being too confusing). However, these are personal complaints, since this doesn't ruin the anime whatsoever. Otherwise, the animation is excellent for 2004-2005, the music captures beautifully the characters. Plus, they themselves are very interesting and extremely complex. I was rooting for most of the main cast and it was easy for me to see why the villains are how they are, either they were rotten to the core or a result of abuse and trauma. Also, like many people, I would absolutely recommend... See full review

Aikatsu!

Jan 14, 2022

I first watched Aikatsu! when I was 8 years old and I just rewatched the first episode, so my review will take both points of view in account. To get rid of the bad stuff first, the characters are veeery boring, in the first episode at least. I remember hating the little brother as a kid and that has not changed. His voice acting is annoying too, like most of the cast (With the exception of Aoi). Plus, the characters are very flat: I had watched most of the anime, but I still only remembered the main trio... However, the things that go well in this anime is the animation and sound design. Sure, it's... See full review

Love Tyrant

Jan 14, 2022

Everything about this is nothing special, even though I love the concept of the Kiss Note on paper. I watched enough episodes to see what it had to offer, but the fact that it can't take itself seriously for more than 5 seconds is very annoying. I also feel like they could have made the characters talk more about their thoughts on their polyamourous relationship. However, it is a comedy anime who plays on love-driven stories stereotypes, so I forgive most of the shallowness. It's good enough for its purpose, though if I had to compliment this anime, I'd say it feels very much like Saiki K in its humour... See full review

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

Jan 3, 2022

(This review has no spoilers) TLDR: The animation and sound design is decent for today's standards, but I highly recommend giving it a watch for at least the first episodes, since Bunny Girl Senpai's short arcs and the main three characters are really interesting. If you like arc-to-arc animes that stay short but interesting, you will definitely like this anime. To get it out of the way, the animation and the sound design is pretty much what you'd expect from a quality anime these days. It's not too memorable, but it plays greatly with the mood and the situations. The story is also very compelling to... See full review

Kakegurui

Jan 2, 2022

The characters aren't very interesting (I'd say the ones who have the most depth are Mary, Ririka and Sayaka, but even there... There's not a lot going on.) and the story is pretty boring: just teenagers gambling and being excited sexually. However, there's a few things I really love about it. I'm sure others pointed it out, but the animation and the sound design is absolutely amazing! It's pretty much the only reason why I remember Kakegurui. I swear there's dozen of frames each episode I could save because the artstyle is so clean! I would give both departments 10/10 if it wasn't sexualising and/or... See full review

Pet Shop of Horrors

Jan 2, 2022

It's such a shame that it was cancelled after 4 episodes, because the story is very intriguing and the two main characters have a wonderfully strange dynamic that I would have loved to see more of. The animation and the sound design isn't too spectacular though, but it didn't bother me since it made the many characters shine better. I highly recommend giving it a try, especially if you're a psychological horror a gore fan. (Well, the gore isn't too intense, but there is some disturbing scenes).

Girlfriend, Girlfriend

Sep 16, 2021

I've only seen the first episode and I won't continue, so here's my impressions on episode 1.

The story, I have to say, is interesting. It's obviously a parody of harem animes, but I can't help but feel curious about how it would all end. Especially since polyamorous relationships aren't very well explored in anime... but it isn't great at it either. The characters annoyed me so much! I understand that, since it's a parody, it will go over the top, but I couldn't help but skip some scenes in the introduction. I really hate Naoyo's guts and both girls annoy me a lot, especially Nagisa's obsession... See full review

Please tell me! Galko-chan

Sep 13, 2021

You either love it or hate it... Me? I really found it entertaining! It's not a favorite by all means, but it's a very memorable one. I'd rewatch it anytime simply for the peculiar jokes and to look at the character designs and story format. Really great stuff to represent and subvert the stereotypes a bit!

Petite Princess Yucie

Sep 13, 2021

(TLDR at the end.) Before we begin, I want to assure anyone that you don't need to know the original franchise to watch this. The story is completly original and the characters too, even though their appearance references some of the games' characters (But of course, Cube is the only copy-pasted character from the games.) First of all, I did NOT expect for that anime to have such compelling story and characters. I really digged the story and the ending was incredibly heartwarming. Plus, the characters also really grew on me: I still have a problem with Glenda, but she gets enough character development... See full review
