Been watching anime since 1999, beginning with Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Pokémon. But thanks to the internet, I had a big re-introduction to anime in the autumn of 2006 and I've never really looked back.
I dont have any particularly favourite genres, I will give any series a go as long as its good :)
My other love is gaming. I am a big retro gamer and collector with over 700 different titles across 20+ consoles :)

I use my anime ratings (out of 5 stars) as an accurate impression of my opinion of said series/movie/etc. So here's a chart to what each rating means to me:
0.5-1 star = Less entertaining than going to a 4-hour lecture on staplers.
1.5-2 stars = Very fleeting moments of entertainment, but mostly sub-par.
2.5-3 stars = Neither overly good or bad. Painfully average
3.5-4 stars = Worth watching and enjoyable, but has minor areas to improve.
4.5 stars = Exemplary, but just missing that one thing that pushes it into the realms of legendary status.
5 stars = A masterpiece.

People like the reviewer think that any anime of a genre that booms is just a copy of another. Sometimes, yeah its true. Ut the video game isekai trope was already ea thing by then. Hell, gantz did it too to an extent, and that manga's HUGE in popularity.
But because log horizon came out near it, it's apparently a copy.
(I genuinely think this review was done by someone who does not understand genres)
