Essentially, his mindset is fundamentally different from other human beings. You can tell that from how others react to his methods of fighting or acquiring skills. Basically, he's "Survival focuss" personified, yet only came to realize this after being stuffed into the labyrinth the first time. Which is why he chose easy mode.
Some people naturally come into their own when faced with a challenge that they need to adapt to, most others do not. That's why, after he regresses, he doesn't choose the easy mode. He goes for hard mode. I actually kinda like how the author chose to portray this part of the MC. Most other authors are lazy and simply have a side-character exposition *exactly* what the MCs personality quircs and such are. Which is a lazy way of doing it. In this work, *you* the reader is the only one who knows how the MCs inner mind works. The MC also isn't aware of how unique their mindset is, which is evident when you read his thoughts on everything. All his thoughts are purely logic-based, dedicated only to solving problems. Which makes him lack a bit of the humanity that you see in other characters.
Well it's updated now, and they explained that he got 236 skill and got alot of life saving cheat skill, he can fight more powerful monster because of his cheat skill that multiply his damage by a hundred thousand.
