This anime is a bit of a letdown.  Frankly it had one of THE WORST and most dissatisfying endings I've EVER seen in an anime.  The last 2 or 3 episodes felt really rushed as if the direct the plot or half the script from them.  Visually, it looks pretty good and more or less decent characters but there are moments where the characters feel a bit carbon copied or lacking depth.  Sadly, the strongest, deepest, and most well developed characters are mostly the minor or support characters.  Such as the Biggs and Wedge clones that follow Lavi like diehard near stalker fanboys.  The... I saw a bit of hype about chainsaw man and while it had its good points it also had it's not so good points.   Overall, the story was pretty good albeit a bit stupid at times about being in debt to unreliable mafias jackholes.  His transformation to nonhuman was pretty cool, but. Last crusade had remarkable charm, humor, and one of the best kinds of romance settings: fate.  This is a fantasy romance series Al Romeo and Juliet in the sense they are on opposing sides of a conflict but fate keeps causing them to meet each other.  What's better than a fateful karmic romance? This was an energetic action oriented fantasy sci-fi type story with decently strong characters and a good premise.  The ending  left something to be desired being so offensive yet it will leave a distaste if there's no rebound hitting the offenders anytime soon in possible future seasons.  It's a good cliffhanger and might work should more seasons be tacked on but as it stands, it will leave a sour taste in many mouths.  Honestly the ending reinforced a growing unease as well about the shallow empty character nature of Hitomi.  It even under mines much of the earlier good will... I have some mixed feelings about the anime version of this novel series.  On the one hand, the art, style, voice acting, and such look great on the other several scenes were rushed through or skipped entirely.  So viewers unfamiliar with the novels will only get a small glimpse of the true depth of this fantasy story.  What makes it a bit more bothersome though are the many anime series that are the reverse getting more seasons or episodes but having far less original source material and perhaps those original sources were actually less popular.  There were only 11 episodes here but it... Glepnir is kind of hard to evaluate.  The story isn't all bad, but the very fact or Suichi's transformation is hard to swallow.  It makes it honestly hard to take it seriously despite the default serious nature of the story which ironically seems to channel hiragashi.  Both stories latch onto the concept of "anyone can have a dark side" and quite literally under the right conditions can become a ruthless blood thirsty villain.  Glepnir just adds a bit more of a supernatural vibe with a dose of sci-fi.  You could also see some similarities to some of the sudden superpower... The best obsession factor honestly throws me off and by the setting, it has no real reason to exist as a required equipment to wear all the time.  There is really nothing that either properly explains it or demonstrates why it had to be bear power or a furry outfit.  The show is pretty decent and plays out well.  I can say it was better than some similar shows but falls fairly short or Bofuri's level, with the only slight improvement being that this is supposed to be real and not a game.  Such a concept would have actually made Bofuri nearly perfect.  Also despite it supposedly... This was in a nutshell loosely like the female version of Shield Hero, but honestly it was better.  The only part that falls below Shield Hero is he was dealing with it for real and gained real abilities while for her it was only a game and that makes a bit of a difference.  For example, her desire to help or save friends loses a lot of the drama and urgency since it's in a game and not real therefore not as dangerous or as necessary as it was for Shield Hero.  If this were a real world, she might become my favorite character and this my favorite anime but it lacks something when it's only... This might very well be the best SWO in the series and partly because it couldn't singularly rely on Kirito thus giving a huge chance to the many other lead and support characters.  The building anticipation of when or if Kirito would wake up didn't hurt either.  The war is essentially secondary to the vaguely implied mistreatment and imbalances based on classes, races, or gender.  While it isn't nor strongly emphasized, it's pretty clearly there and that adds both depth and a strange allusion and connection to issues in reality during the current times.  I'd like to have seen a bit more... While Black Bullet has an overly unhealthy obsession with lolis and a kneck for gruesome brutality akin to Freezing, it uses to highlight drama and unlike Freezing doesn't overdo it or overly depend on that as the only real substance the writers seems to think they must rely on.  The loli love is still enough to make viewers pause and question such interest but not enough to show undeniably they are headed down a warped road.  This is partly because although the other major characters might seem much older they are in fact effectively high school students and not much older than most lolis...
