Hello World. I'm a simple animation major, computer science minor, who has a profound adoration for anything animated, 2D, or otherwise. I also love a majority of cartoons, if you couldn't tell by my profile picture. I'm quite particular in my tastes, so I've probably seen a lot, but like a little.
I was introduced to anime a little earlier than most people due to my love of quality animation from an early age. I believe it was 5th grade for me when I started watching things other than Pokemon (which I still love to this day).
I'm proud to say that I have watched 2/3 of the big 3 to their entirety at the moment. I love One Piece, but am sad at the current degradation in it's quality. Naruto was fun for me, but it never quite snagged me as much as others. Bleach was great. I even enjoyed most of the filler arcs, but it did get boring at some points. I do hope that My Hero Academia can fill the hole it has left. I haven't watched Boruto, and don't plan to.
I have a special place in my heart for obscure and touching slice of life anime.
Anime that have shaped my viewing experience so far and that I highly recommend: Mushishi, The Kids on the Slope, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, The Ancient Magus' Bride.
My favorite Ghibli movie is Howl's Moving Castle, followed closely by Princess Mononoke.
Tesla is pretty much my life idol and model. I could only hope to reach such heights of creation and enlightenment as he did.
I am also an artist by trade. You have to be before you become an animator. Here's my DA if you're interested: https://empyraecross.deviantart.com/
Fair warning, I haven't updated it with anything new in quite a while. More is on Instagram: @empyrae_cross
It would be my dream to work for Industrial Light & Magic (ILM.) If you can work there, you can work anywhere in animation.
