I'm a geek of many styles and a master of none. I play Dungeons and Dragons and other RPGs, I love European style board games, I cook delicious Asian style foods, I"ve LARPed, I've fought in Dagorhir, I love all that is geeky and weird! Anime is a beautiful escape that constantly changes and surprises me.

The shows below have sparked my interest in the persuit of consuming as much entertainment as I can.

(AKA My top 5)

  1. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon?
  2. Toradora!
  3. Outlaw Star
  4. Your Lie in April

EloquentRune says...  Hope you are having a great week!

Thank you - It's been ok for me. Have had some time to watch some shows, that makes me happy. How about you - are you having a good weekend?

EloquentRune says... Gourmet Girl Graffiti lost me in the first episode I wasn't interested at all half way though it, but Food Wars keeps me coming back for more helpings :)  I completely agree about liking the one episode a week with the current seasons. It does make it much easier for me at least to appriciate more shows over all than being soley focused on marathoning complete shows.

\r\n

I tried to indicate that I really didn't love GG Graffiti by describing it as a "kinda bad anime" when I mentioned it before... but the fact that these girls got sooooo interested in their food made the food aspect take on a more prominent role, so the food that wasn't typically Western fare got my curiosity peaked...  I am sure Food Wars will do the same thing!  Haven't seen much of it yet, but already it's very much better that GGG.

EloquentRune says... HAH that was a fun synopsis! I'll have to look into it some time. I'm going to start Steins;Gate later tonight I've heard nothing but good things about it, and it always ranks highly on lists so it should be entertaining to some degree for me.

\r\n

Trust me, Steins;Gate is a truly worthy watch and Pleiades is a truly worth skip! Really liked Steins;Gate. I actually contemplated making it my first 5-star rated anime, but there are flaws that prevented me from doing so.

\r\n

The characters and plot do not develop swiftly, so this may not catch your attention till the middle of the series, by which time the characters are familiar enough for the humor to shine through and the plotline ramps up with plot twists and character developments for the characters you have now begun to care about.  This doesn't really kick in until episode 10 or so, though.

EloquentRune says... Food Wars is great so far this season and I get a lot of inspiration from it for my hobby cooking. I'm beginning to take self made bentos to work for lunch and I love Asian cooking so the ingredients they use in the show are interesting and the Manga has recipies in it that I want to try some time.

\r\n

Watched a kinda bad anime called Gourmet Girl Graffiti that really got me thinking about Asian foods and trying a bunch of new-to-me Asian foods...

\r\n

EloquentRune says...  Time is really flying by this season I can't believe some of the shows only have a month to go. However, I'm learning not to be too bothered by that since unlike regular TV shows I like new and interesting things come out every season. No excuses for boredom ever it seems!

\r\n

I like the fact that current season anime are only one episode per week - so it is generally a schedule I can handle to keep up.  At first, I would only watch already completed anime titles, but that can be tough to finish if the show has more than say, 25 episodes...  Now, I am intimidated by shows that have lots and lots of episodes already released...
