I don't hate Slaine but he was just way too indecisive for my liking. :P Sorry if I'm repeating myself - to be honest, I am too lazy to find my earlier comments. Ha. :3
I quite liked the ending - it wrapped things up nicely I thought and brought it to a decent conclusion. Each to their own though. I think a lot of anime have great endings, but it's hard to get right - and sometimes shit happens, like anime gets cancelled halfway through, or the budget is cut, or whatever. Lots o' problems and the stuff still airs unfinished! Like Zombie-Loan was originally slated to be 20+ episodes, but it ended up only airing for 11, and 2 specials. The ending really left a bad taste in the mouth and people complain about it being a bit of a moneygrabber for the manga but nobody seems to know it was actually supposed to be twice as long almost!
The only real issue I have with a lot of anime endings is they either are a gateway for another possible season or they seem to end quite ambiguously. 'Tis why I loved Code Geass so much. Nothing was left to imagine cus everything concluded itself. It is a nice feeling.
