My Top Twenty Favorite Dubbed Anime

After years of watching anime, I am making a list of my favorite anime that I think had some of the best English voice acting.
1 Berserk

Berserk

Other than the fact that its set in a European setting, its also my first seinen series. Therefore, it has a lot of nostalgia for me.

2 Steins;Gate

Steins;Gate

I really like J. Micheal Tatum. Okabe was his first major voice role and he kills it, in a good way. Plus I think time travel is a cool story element.

3 Black Clover

Black Clover

Its one of the newer long running shounen series that I've been watching and the dub just makes the humor even better. Plus I think the author has planned the series pretty well.

4 Casshern Sins

Casshern Sins

I like robots and the post-apocalyptic world. Give the series themes of existentialism and voice actors like Eric Vale and Brina Polencia and it feels like a match made in heaven.

5 Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop

Bounty hunters having adventures in space, along with complex characters and Steve Blum and I'm good to go.

6 Yu Yu Hakusho

Yu Yu Hakusho

I like seeing a punk like Yusuke making something out of his 2nd life, the urban fantasy is fun, and Justin Cook is so on point with voicing Yusuke.

7 Hellsing Ultimate

Hellsing Ultimate

Other than the fact that Crispin Freeman's acting is absolutely nutty, its a good action series with passionate characters.

8 BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad

BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad

Every song in the anime was dubbed by the actors, all of which sound good. That, and I think Greg Ayres voicing Koyuki is his best role period.

9 Black Lagoon

Black Lagoon

Its a pretty good action series, plus when you hear voice actors like Brad Swaile and Maryke Hendrikse, its like a lot of thought and planning when into dubbing Black Lagoon.

10 Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

Let's be honest, cursing in English sounds a lot better than in Japanese. Plus its just more funny hearing the English voice actors.

11 Paradise Kiss

Paradise Kiss

There's this chemistry that Patrick Seitz and Julie Ann Taylor create between their characters. Plus Paradise Kiss is like a pretty realistic romance, even if it is a bit short.

12 Claymore

Claymore

I love dark fantasies, and Claymore is what fostered that love. That and I thought Stephanie Young played her role as Clare pretty well.

13 Death Note

Death Note

Brad Swaile, he did a phenomenal job with Light Yagami. That, and you never knew what would happen with the characters.

14 Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

I enjoyed Vic's acting for Edward Elric and how he humanized the character. And I still enjoy the anime, even if the manga was my first experience.

15 Devilman: Crybaby

Devilman: Crybaby

Devilman is practically what influenced the dark fantasy genre for anime, and the reboot more or less did a good job. Plus Griffin Burns definitely owned the role of Akira Fudo. And I also think Miki's voice actress also did a good job.

16 Monster

Monster

I like thrillers, and all the mature themes that were explored in Monster. Plus I thought Tenma's english voice actor did a really good job.

17 Mob Psycho 100

Mob Psycho 100

The jokes in Mob Psycho 100 really sound good in english, plus Funimation went the extra mile for the characters.

18 Spirited Away

Spirited Away

Its the very first Ghibli film I saw as a child, so nostalgia plays a role. Plus I like dragons and bath houses.

19 Rurouni Kenshin

Rurouni Kenshin

It was one of the first mature shounen series I saw that convinced me my taste in manga/anime was changing, other than Evangelion. I became a fan of samurai slashers, and I thought Richard Cansino really went in voicing Kenshin.

20 Wolf Children

Wolf Children

It explored the theme of motherhood pretty well, coming of age, and learning to let your children leave the nest. Funimation did a really good job dubbing the movie, really memorable experience.
