commented on Rascal's review of To Your EternityI honestly want to say that I enjoyed the anime, but I can't. There are clearly problems with how the characters were handled, plus the story's identity and direction. I'd even go far to say that this anime contributed to me experiencing burnout.
Isn't living the reason for life itself?
Before I begin, let me preface this by saying that if you haven't seen this anime yet, at least its first episode, then don't read this review. In fact, don't read any review. Just take this first paragraph as a heartfelt reccomendation, to pick this... Read Rascal's full review

commented on Kaoru HOSHINOShe is definitely one of the best characters from the series. That confidence is what makes her so awesome.

commented on bobhikes's review of To Your EternityI know that To Your Eternity isn't an anime for everybody, but I see myself as a fantasy nerd. I'm also use to the anime being episodic(sometimes) and sad. It reminds me of Casshern Sins in a lot of ways. Except that Casshern Sins can feel way more depressing as a whole. At least you gave it a try, cause there are some people who won't even do that.
I really don't get the fan rave about this anime. There is no story. Basically 2 to 3 episodes are mini-stories loosely throwing in the main character. It is so slow developing the main character. They are dark stories no happiness to them. There is some character... Read bobhikes's full review

commented on nathandouglasdavis's review of Nine Dragons’ Ball ParadeI can understand why someone might consider the art generic looking. But you also have to realize that the author has to release the chapters on a weekly basis. The artist doesn't have a ton of time to create diverse faces. So maybe its something the artist can work on with their next series.
This is a manga about Tamao Azukida using feir researching knowledge to recruit niche or unorthodox players to join their baseball team and become the Nine Dragons. Many of the obviously strong players have already been recruited to various schools, so Azukida says that they'll focus on... Read nathandouglasdavis's full review

commented on OkamiHime95's profileNo, I do get what you're saying. I wasn't trying to sound angry or anything like that. Its just that when someone I've know for awhile unfollows me, I want to know the reason, usually for peace of mind. I love it when someone is straight-foward with me. But its also reminded me that when I'm caught up in my job or doing other stuff, I want to maintain the relationships I have on Anime Planet. Cause I do care about some of the people on here. So yes, I do want us to stay friends. But I also want to stay connected, so don't be surprised if I drop a message every now and then.

commented on OkamiHime95's profile@OkamiHime95 So it looks like I was forgotten, that's kind of depressing actually. Though I guess it makes sense. If you're following someone on anime planet and they don't talk to you, then what's the point.

commented on SakiI don't understand how anyone could like this character. She is practically a plot device.

commented on AmazingLagann's review of A Silent VoiceYou were pretty on point with your reasoning. What bothers me is how I didn't notice these issues, but better late than never.
This manga did not live up to the one shot. Just read the one shot and be done with it.
Granted, it's hard to live up to perfection, but still.
Actually it fell way short.
Koe no Katachi squandered such incredible potential that I can't help but get mad at it far more than any... Read AmazingLagann's full review

I never felt like I was invested in the characters, even if they did have quirks. Oh well.
We sorta get a revamping of the series starting with chapter 9. New characters, new relationship within the police force. It frames everything before then as being a prologue, and it's quite possible that those early cases were simply intended as introductions to the main premise and the... And to that there is nothing I can say, other than that you get some life guidance. To you I give you a block, to make sure you're never a nuisance to me again.

commented on AnimeGG1984's profileThere's a part of your profile called signature, and that's where you make your banner. Explaining how is not my forte though.

commented on Kentarou KYOUTANIHe's fun and I like my delinquent type characters. You can't say he doesn't take volleyball seriously cause he does, though he tends to go berserk. Always expect something fun with this character.

commented on orpheusx9's review of Hell's Paradise: JigokurakuPretty much on point. Can't wait for the anime adaption.
TL;DR - Really great read for those who love a good action/survival story.
The premise itself is a variation on a story you've all heard before - surviving on an island. But instead of being randomly kidnapped and dumped on the island, we actually have a bunch of criminals and their... Read orpheusx9's full review

commented on Rbastid's review of Yugo the NegotiatorI think the problems found in Yugo are also ones you can find in Shinji Makari's newest work, Issak. Although from what I can tell, the author did get better at researching material for his manga. But the characters are still the weakest part to his writing. And I should have known since Seiji Kishi directed the Yugo anime, and that guy has a lot of misses regarding anime he's involved in. The Yugo anime definitely felt like it had potential, and I enjoyed hearing Jason Douglas voice Yugo. But I'm probably not going to rewatch it again. There's a reason why people forgot about this anime.
Yugo the Negotiator seemed like a decent series due to its unique story, but it really just became apologist hogwash and a waste of time.
Story - 2/10
So Yugo is, you guessed it, a negotiator. He tries to free hostages around the world, yet in the series we see him free only... Read Rbastid's full review

commented on Rbastid's profileSince I thought about it, the author probably didn't do a good job doing research for stuff relating to the Yugo manga/anime. And I wanted to like the story, even if it wasn't perfect. There was some really cool ideas, but it all sort of falls flat if you don't develop the protagonist and how he made it to where he is. Feels like the sort of series people would read/watch cause its cool, but being cool can only take a series so far I guess.
Right now I'm categorizing all series on the site based on:
Watched = Watched, Rated and have Written a Review For.
Watching = I've watched and Reviewed part of the...

commented on Rascal's review of Jujutsu KaisenIts depressing, but I think you pretty much nailed the problems the series has. I only wish that I noticed sooner.
*disclaimer: the author of this review is a shounen fan.*

commented on Ryo MINENAMII think the author has potential. But I wish the author would spend more time exploring themes in Boys Abyss before quckly moving the story along. That and trying way too hard to make me feel bad for characters I can't feel attached to.
