The author is same so yeah
It's definetely not the "exact copy", because it differs in details (ex. MC is an adult in this one [and so far has no beard - ch. 14], while in the other one [ch. 15] he's a [reincarnated] teenager, so there's no way that "sorcerer looks the same" [unless you meant that it's the same person?]; the plot is also more epic than in the "original").
It's not exactly a prequel too, because the details differ from what is told in both (ex. Iris doesn't change to human form "for the first time" like it's told in the "sequel", because she does exactly that in this "prequel").
Both seems like alternative retellings, with one placed later in time [but released earlier] (so there are mentions of earlier events and characters - but they doesn't necessarily match). The plots are also similar, but in this one the plot is more epic (in the other one it's just the standard fight with the demons).

Based on both of their related manga's section I'm pretty sure they are both based on the same light novel. So it's more a reboot than a copy.
