(Spoiler Free Review)
Minor objectionable content (TV-PG).
I was intrigued how this anime would play out. The main concept, characters, and plot reminded me of three different anime combined;
1)Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside
2)The Fruit of Evolution: Before I knew It My Life Had It Made
3)Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town
If you have seen any of those anime, then you will see a lot of comparisons with Beast Tamer. (If you have not seen any of those shows, just read their titles and you will understand.) Unfortunately, it follows the same pattern as those other shows, it is bad.
The story started off well, definitely passes the first two episode challenge. (If you do not enjoy the first two episodes, you might as well stop watching.) Had some nice expectations, but I was let surely down.
The show gradually becomes unengaging and starts to lose the audience's attention around episode seven. Lulled me to sleep by the end.
Most of the character design is well done, however any character growth is nonexistent. There really isn't much to speak of in that regard. Way more wholesome, than I anticipated from a harem anime. I loved the cat spirit's word puns. The voice actresses for Sora and Runa (twin fairy characters) in the English dubbing did a very good job. Both are relatively new to anime roles, I hope they decide to continue.
Animation and sound were average. Not terrible, but not the best. The usual for an anime with minor funding.
All in all, I rate Beat Tamer 4/10 -- Below Average. It is not bad for streaming on the second monitor while you do something else.
