The orignial Berserk, is generally considered one of the greats as far as animes go. However, it did not earn this title because of amazing/visually stunning fights, or breath taking landscapes. In fact, imo the animation is actually subpar, even for back in the day. Many of the actions sequences happen off screen, and the ones on screen are not very fluid. SUMMARY Fairy Tail is a long running shonen, so you probably already know what the show will entail. First off, It has a large cast of characters including the stereotypical never-quite-dimwitted hothead (Natsu), his smug rival (Grey), the blonde bimbo (Lucy), and my favorite, the wise/chivalrous leader (Erza)... and also the annoying animal thingy. Although the characters will feel somewhat formulaic, they play off eachother extremley well, creating situations that will have you laughing, crying and everyhing in between.
