I'm going to start of this with a simple request. Please watch this anime. The studio that produced it was formed specifically to make this. A studio, full of talented people. And if you watch it, you will soon see why.

Jobless Reincarnation is a piece of anime history.

All those tropes that are hated in most Isekai come from Jobless Reincarnation. And while those tropes are usually considered a bad thing, here, where they originated from, they are used flawlessly.

First of all, if you hate Ecchi, go into this with an open mind. Rudeus, with lack of a better term, is a pervert of the highest order. This is because he's actually a horrible person at the start. And he grows as a character. Y'know. Like a person.

Although some of the scenes will definitely be off-putting to those who have a moral compass and a basic concept of being a decent person, that's kind of the point. And those times where Rudeus isn't divulging in his previous life make it all worth it.

I have not seen or heard an anime of this artistic quality in a long, long time, or maybe even ever. Please. Just watch it. Bear through Rudeus's rough patches, because the payoff, when it eventually is released, will be well worth it.

If you still aren't convinced, and don't mind Minor spoilers, keep reading. This is your final warning.

Rudeus has a troubled past. He was bullied to the point that it permanently mentally scarred him, to the point of mild PTSD. Because this is being adapted from a Manhwa, not a Manga, the weirdness that is customary in anime is a different kind of grotesque here. Due to this emotionally stunting event, he becomes more of a degenerate than most protagonists. The opening scene is hit watching some form of hentai, with tissues off to the side. During his parents funeral.

he is kicked to the curb, and proceedes to get hit by a truck, dying in an attempt to save some teenagers. While the truck method of reincarnation is well known at this point, this was actually its first use in any form of aisan entertainment.

He then wakes up, in the arms of a woman, as an infant who's just been born. Despite being a baby, he still retains all of his memories from his previous life. And all of his trauma and tendencies. At this point, he would have probably turned out as you would expect, some horny asshole who cares little for those around him... Except when he first sees magic. He is enthralled by his mother's healing spell, Causing him to wish to learn magic of his own. And so he does.

The reason Jobless Reincarnation is so great is that the protagonist actually has a personality. And he goes through a character arc at a natural speed, taking years to make any sort of noticeable progress. I won't spoil anything more, but with the events of the Manhwa, he turns out as a decent person, eventually.

Please watch Jobless Reincarnation. It's one of, if not the single best Isekai anime available at the moment. It is truely a magical anime to watch.
