Say "I love you."

Jul 8, 2016

Say "I love you" or Sukitte Ii Na Yo is a truly heart warming anime. It has all the right elements you need to enjoy a good romance without having to scream at the screen in fustration XD  Anyone looking for that perfect romance with tons of cute kissing scenes, I recommend this one for sure! With that I will begin my full scale review.

Story...

What I enjoyed about the story was not just the romance, but the real life problems we all struggle through. It shows you the challenges of going through loneliness, body image, bullying, blending in with the crowd, gossiping and so much more. I loved how the main characters start dating from the start! It is definitely something new to me in these types of anime's but I enjoyed it and it is really nice to see the couples complications and how they overcome it.

The main story of a shy girl dating the popular guy is cliche BUT this anime executes it very well and takes a very unique twist to it, making the viewers look at relationships in a whole new light.

Animation...

Simply beautiful. The characters don't have this huge eye popping look to them but I like that, I enjoy the "down to earth" look these characters have, makes it feel more real. In some scenes the characters get to have their "moments" as I like to call it when the whole screen panels onto them and they just shine. The girls and the guys have their own personal look to them and it's just overall beautiful.

Sound...

Nothing in particular stood out for me but the soundtrack was very subtle and cute. It was really good at setting a perfect romantic scene. It was a very good balance!

Characters...

You get a nice introduction with each character and a glimpse into the problems they face, whether it be dealing with love or their friendship. Even though the characters were a bit cliche (Ex. Shy girl, popular guy, perverted guy friend, girl friend with big tits...) each character has its own unique quality which is something I really enjoyed, I really hate when certain anime mash up the secondary characters together. It gives you insight of each friend without leaving you forgetting about the main characters. But, because it does that so quickly I hate how the secondary characters are then kind of kept to the side after the get their issue resolved, I wanted to see more growth!

OVERALL... 9/10 I loved every moment and this is one of the first romance anime I have seen that had alot of kissing scenes! Yay! You felt their love and you felt the pain/struggles they went through, it was a really touching anime! PLEASE WATCH!!

-Thanks for reading! <3
