This anime, it is well it is just insane! In a world where crude humor, dirty jokes, dirty words, dirty material, and inappropriate words are illegal along with extreme surveillance makes for a very interesting setting. With a Fahrenheit 451/1984 feel, mix with inappropriateness, humor, and high school students makes for an interesting tale. Despite the gratuitous fun, ecchi, and innuendos in this anime, what I really find interesting is how it makes a dystopian society into a very funny comedy. Something I do not see much in media. Like many dystopian societies, in Shimoneta they have extreme surveillance, trigger words that summon police/riot tems, banned material, ignorant members of society and so on. Yet when you make the freedom fighters masters of dirty jokes and nudity, it adds a very nice twist to things. I highly recommend this anime to anyone that likes people fighting the establishment, silly humor, ecchi, and whatever else you pull out of it. Maybe you will find your own love nectar, or you will just laugh your hearts desire off. I give this anime a 9.25/10. It has a great story so far. It has wonderful animation, decent sound, and wonderful characters. Even the side characters are remarkable. This anime goes from 0-60 in about 1.21 nanoseconds.

you are right ! is just like a parody of 1984 or Does android dream of electric sheep?.

That absolutely messed up society where de main characters are aware that something is wrong but they are not at the same time.

They fight for the right of their "sexuality" or to mantain the status quo but they don't even find stange the way the world do thing around them and somehow their way of thinking is influenced by the society they are rejecting.

what i find amazing is how they show the confusion of the sheltered youngsters while facing sexual material/sitautions , like ana , she thinks that she is in love just because she doesn't know what lust is so she is doing what she is not suposed to do because she have no idea of what is actually "improper". She is just in this loop where it's actually worse not knowing about that stuff because she is proud of her behaviour thinking that it's love so she just keeps on doing what she "rejects". Fantastic way of depicting incongruencs between ideology and practice because of misconcepcions of the ideals they follow , wich is quite common nowadays .
