Even the beach episode was wholesome.
This anime isn't about sexy monster girls or dangerous monster girls, it's about cute high school students who happen to be monster girls.
Truly a rollercoaster, in every sense of the word. Of emotions, of plot, of story. Of characters growing through a handful of episodes, of Mary Poppins-esque shenanigans, of coolness. Watch this magnificant student segway with a mop bucket, feed injured birds, and create friendships that last forever. The wierdness contrasts with the tear-jerking, the funny moments contrast with the coolness, and the fancy music contrasts with..well, everything while somehow matching PERFECTLY. While the animation is normal bishounen, it too is pretty much perfect for the job of creating the literal perfect bishounen... See full review
Mayuri Judgement isn't a bad movie, per say, so much as it is dissapointing. The majority of the plot itself is 'let's have him date all the girls...again', reducing the majority of it to an OVA. Aside from yet another Kurumi ex Machina, it suddenly turns into Bleach: Memories of Nobody towards the end, adding another new character which we're supposed to care about, but has no real development or time to grow. The music and art is good, as always, the concert song near the start being a treat. The design of the 'new' character that I mentioned above, as well as her cohart, are decent, the latter almost... The Irregular at Magic High School, also known as "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei", is an interesting little romp. In regards to story, it's interesting and unique. The plot is decent enough, and it's rather well paced, leaving time for character development, action scenes, and scenes that the plot leads up to. In regards to animation, it's honestly on the average side. However, the designs for spells, while reused, are unique among anime, and can be facinating to watch. In regards to sound, the opening and closing songs are great. The actual soundtrack to the actual show can be fun, sometimes... See full review
Papa no lu Koto o Kikinasai! or, Papakiki or, Listen to Me, Girls. I am Your Father! is a rather heartwrenching anime. Not in the sense that you might think (although you wouldn't be far off), but that in the mood whiplash will absolutely kill you. One moment you'll be laughing, the next you'll be tilting your head in confusion, the next you'll be weeping, and the next moment you'll be cooing. The story is good overall, following the growth of the characters presented. Sadly, their personalities don't blossom too much, and most of the change happens later, with little overall effect. The... See full review
