Saint Seiya Omega

Sep 30, 2018

Season 1 was great! The rest...

I'm honestly conflicted about how I should review this show. During the first whole season, I found it  pretty much as good as a direct sequel to Saint Seiya could get in modern times, and I absolutely love how they brought back so many voice actors from the classic (even though hearing how much their voices aged was kinda shocking at first). The new saints were funny and inspiring, the designs were simple but dynamic, and the animation was gorgeous (as most shows are with Yoshihiko Umakoshi at the reigns). The first season finale was stunning to look at.

However, I found it kinda painful to watch after season 1. You can tell the animation lost a lot of it's fluidity and the upgraded cloth designs were bulky messes. There wasn't much character development anymore after season 1.

7/10 story
9/10 animation
8/10 sound
7/10 characters
7.5/10 overall
