That episode about the sorrow poetry left a deep impression for me too, but I still wondered how did it spread to other countries as a book of prophecy.. did someone published the poetry as a book of prophecy intentionally? Sometimes I left some questions in my head when I watched Kino no Tabi. Btw, I like the way they put those sentences which has been said by the characters..

My fav ones was an episode which tells us Kino's background and the railway one and also the story about a king who lives alone in his country..
I think it's inertesting so far..... Issues with episode 5? Not quite there yet but I am curious about it now....
Okay thoughts on episode one:
I know I've heard the opening song before! I'm sure I heard it before my love of anime was kindled.... I don't know where though....
Kino's journey started off great (despite Hermes' protests) in my opinion. It makes me want to watch more being plopped right into the story like that. It's kind of funny. I would be lonely only being able to converse with a motorcycle (assuming that Hermes can talk and Kino just isn't crazy, of course.... :D). And that poor man after he asked Kino to stay..... I feel so bad for everyone in that country. All alone.....
"The world is not beautiful, therefore it is......" ....I will ponder that for a while.....
