There are no spoilers in this review, so if you want to read it, go for it

After not having more than 3 hours of sleep each day for the past week and a half because of finals, I finally have gotten some free time to catch up on anime, with me eventually narrowing it down to either me finishing Kabukichou Sherlock, or me watching Smile Down the Runway, so thank you @totti2k2 @Lorealalal!! and @N.E.C.C. on Kitsu because, without your reviews on Kabukichou Sherlock, I probably would not have watched the gem of a show that Smile Down the Runway truly is.

I wanna keep this fairly short, so YES in case any of you are still in denial, this show is fantastic and made me care about a topic I have never really considered in my entire life. You know at the beginning of last season when this show started getting a lot of hype I didn’t really understand why, because at the time I was naïve, and I really did not understand why a show about modeling was so popular among anime fans, and after watching it, I completely understand. This show really exemplifies an aspect of anime that I truly enjoy, and that is how anime always (well not always, but most of the time) somehow makes me care about a topic that I absolutely have ZERO interest in. This is probably not shocking to any of you, but I am definitely not a part of the target demographic for shows like America’s Next Top Model, but this show somehow kept me on the edge of my seat watching this duo try to accomplish their goal against all odds. The best way I can put this is if Deku was actually a model, My Hero Academia was all about his struggle to become the best model, and if his biggest rival was actually his best friend, you would get this show.

That’s basically all I want to say, the show in my eyes actually doesn’t need a Season 2, because the way they end everyone’s story actually leaves me content, which is extremely rare with 12 episode shows, with it also having a relatively satisfying ending for me overall, so yeah 90/100. I was trying to think of reasons why I should give it a lower score, but based on what it was trying to be, I think generally it accomplished its goal (plus I basically had a good time through the entire series), so except for the fact that I maybe would have wanted more scenes from Chiyuki’s perspective, overall I am happy with the product that we got. Now all that left it for them to make more anime’s about topics that I never thought I would be interested in and eventually I’ll just know a bunch of random facts about every profession, next up I’m hoping for either a veterinarian, dirty jobs, or marine biologists inspired anime’s😆😆😆
