I read a review where someone said something to the effect of, "This show is not for the faint of heart". They weren't lying. There are some really heavy themes here involving PTSD, broken homes, and destructive coping strategies. If you yourself are familiar with any of those things you might find that this anime will hit you in a very deep and uncomfortable way at times. If you're looking for a lighthearted distraction from your deeper problems then I can't recommend this, you might find yourself having an identity crisis instead. To those with courage that are trying to improve themselves I say take the plunge. That said, if you're a person without any experience with the previously mentioned topics you might have a hard time understanding the characters. If anything you'll likely be inclined to judge them for their actions rather than empathize. That's just fine either way. We all have different experiences in life.
TL;DR: This anime is truly not meant for everyone. If you finish it you'll probably feel strongly about it, whether it be love or hate. Me? I think it's a masterpiece.
