Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest

Oct 22, 2019

I've already read a review I super agree with so I won't repeat too much of what it already says. The story might be alright if everything else was better. I don't think I can give a good opinion of it because the rest of this show is so terrible.

The animation is bad. Oh so very bad. It feels very grainy to me but that could be the monitor that I'm watching on. I don't like the colors used because it feels sucked of saturation. Actually, that's about what the entire anime feels like. The CG is bad as usual but it was... See full review

Aquarion Evol

Jan 25, 2019

Okay, I'm actually an idiot. I watched this before watching Aquarion. I was really wondering why nothing made any sense and now I know. I've ruined the series for myself. It really felt like Evol was a series of Ex Machinas at the end. The weird power things could just appear out of nowhere for no reason. Maybe that's because I haven't watched the original. Goddammit.

Shitcom

Oct 10, 2018

As of now, this show is named "Bowsette" for some reason. I guess it's just icing on the cake. I'm not sure what to say about this "anime". I guess it's rather shitty in the literal sense of the word.

The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar

Oct 6, 2018

I'm not really sure why I watched this all the way through. This anime takes some elements from Madan no Ou to Vanadis, and Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni. It really just feels like a rip-off of a bunch of things. Story: There wasn't anything really unique about what happens. Generic boy is sucked into another world and he has his cellphone like Isekai wa Smartphone. There's also this girl that he likes from his own world. Would have liked the mechanics of runes to be explained a little better (or just at all). Animation: I thought the animation was rather flat. Nothing really stood out to me. Not like... Brynhildr in the Darkness

Sep 30, 2018

This is a rough review. I think that this anime could have been done much better. It does a good job of giving the viewer and unsettling feeling for almost the entire anime. Hopefully that's what they were going for. I wish that this anime was taken in more of a horror or thriller genre than that weird fanservice harem thing that was going on. I think if it was more of a thriller the weird pacing wouldn't be present and that unsettling feeling would work really well.

Dragon Crisis!

Sep 26, 2018

There was something a little off with the sound. The fight against Furumori should have had music in the background. The OP was very well done but there wasn't a large selection of background music throughout the entire anime. The story was alright but I feel like the characters were somewhat shallow. It's not bad, but it's certainly not great.

DARLING in the FRANXX

Jul 14, 2018

I liked this one I guess. The animation was a little flat for my tastes but the story was good. Sometimes an entire episode would just focus on a character which isn't my favorite thing. The story was just a little to mature for me I guess. It's still something to be appreciated for sure. My numbers don't make sense at all but that's what I think this anime should recieve for a score.

Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude, Where We Are Least Alone

Jun 11, 2018

I'm not really sure if this show was really bad or really good. Probably the latter? I do know that it was a pain to figure out what was going on because of the way the episodes are set up. I do recall some sort of date or timestamp system but I'm not that observant. I had to Wikipida that one.

Magical Warfare

May 13, 2018

I really tried hard to watch this anime. It was in a genre that I liked so I thought that I might as well stick it through till the end. The animation is a little wierd here and there but it wasn't enough for me to stop watching. Around ep 3, I had a premonition that it wasn't going to turn out well. I kept watching because I was hopeful. I regret my choices and wish this anime hadn't been made. The characters are annoying, irrational, and stupidly persistent. The plot just ends at a cliff-hanger leaving the viewers wondering what the heck happened. I'm no writer, and I don't know if I could have done... See full review

Hand Shakers

May 10, 2018

Ouch. That first episode hurt my eyes. It was actually hard to visually process things that were going on. It's way too busy so looking into the screen and trying to understand what's going on can be a little "painful". I think some parts of it were "pretty", if that's the word to describe it. That's it's one saving grace.

Eromanga Sensei

Dec 28, 2017

Eh, this was okay I guess. I thought that not much really happened in this anime. The animation stood out to me as better than avarage. I didn't see much gradual change of characters. Our usual generic main character didn't really change that much and neither did his shut-in sister. I'd almost label this as a harem towards the middle of this anime. The story was alright but I've seen better stories about creation of manga and other arts. I'm dissapointed that the plot really never took off anywhere and neither did the characters. It stayed pretty stagnant throughout the entire time. It probably deserves... See full review

Chaika: The Coffin Princess - Avenging Battle

Dec 18, 2017

Man, this anime was such a tough one to sit through. It had so many things I generally like but for some reason, they just didn't work well. I think I picked an anime that wasn't really within the scope of genres that I really like. I feel like this is a good example of an anime that rushes explaining fundamental concepts in the end. That's not a bad thing always, I'm just not a fan. I'm not going to explain the story, the animation, or the characters because I think my explanation would leave out a lot. Other people could do better. I just want to point out some positive and negative... See full review

Assassination Classroom

Dec 9, 2017

I started the first episode and was weirded out, so I just stalled it for a few months. Eventually I picked it back up. I'm surprised what a gem this turned out to be. Story First, you have to get over how ridiculous this anime is. If you accept the fact that there's a yellow octopus that's gonna destory the Earth but also wants to teach class, most of the rest of the anime rests nicely on top of this. After two or three episodes in, seeing Korosensei isn't that much of a shock anymore. The story is pretty unique I think. I haven't seen anything like this before, though I don't watch as much as other... See full review

Kannagi

Dec 9, 2017

I liked the animation. I thought it was pretty clean. The plot of this thing is what bugged me. I was kind of hoping to see a little more romance in the end. (Oh well). The thing that really wound me up was the ending. It felt so abrupt. Also, there's so much to that's unknown (and that bothers me) Oh well, it's not a bad anime.

A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives

Dec 6, 2017

This was the second show I watched getting into anime. At the time I regarded it as a 9/10 almost masterpiece kind of show. In retrospect, I think my line of thinking was "I don't know what the hell's going on. But it's cool and I like it."

Shining Hearts

Nov 22, 2017

Okay, at the beginning I really thought that this might actually have some promise and I started to wonder why it deserved such a poor score. I enjoyed the concept of the Drifters. However, this is a classic example of an anime explaining a core concept too late (and not well enough). There are so many questions that are left in my head after watching this. Mainly, "Who the heck is the main character?". That's NOT a good question to have after finishing an anime. Also, the whole mechanic of how the worlds combined wasn't even really explained. Here are some more questions that I have: Who's... See full review
