You fall in love with the first 23 episodes of this anime for 3 main reasons: Nodame, Chiaki, and the music. However, what elevated the show to something great is Nodame, and her endearing, quirky, childish personality. There's a reason why her name is in the title. She's hyperactive, almost unable to care for herself, and a significant percentage of her speech is devoted to single, unintelligible one-word outbursts of emotion.

However, she's been nearly stripped of her vitality in this Finale. It's dreary and she's simply not entertaining. Any character could play her role. This morph had already started in the prior Paris series, but this completed the transformation. To avoid any spoilers, I'm not going to give specifics.

Although I believe this show is highly overrated, I can easily agree that if you enjoyed Paris, you'll very likely enjoy this as well. However, if you thought Paris was subpar because of how the writers treated Nodame, you'll be even more disappointed with Finale. Don't waste your time.
