This is a fabulous anime that I will never watch again. Every major character is painfully damaged, emotionally, regarding romantic relationships. The writer of this show must have been profoundly hurt by a love that wasn't returned, or was returned in a twisted way.

This wasn't fun to watch, but that doesn't detract from its quality. For what it was trying to portray, it did so wonderfully. It really conveyed the misery of these people, and the desperate choices they made to alleviate it.

The tone is unrelenting. There are no moments of comedy here - it's tough the entire way through.

There is no nudity or explicit sex, but there is implicit sexual conduct of some sort a number of times. This show deserves at least a PG-13 rating.

The animation is fabulous.

This deserves a much higher rating, certainly in the top 200. I can only assume people give it lower ranks is because it's unpleasant to watch. But there's a difference between the subject matter and the way it was portrayed.

If you don't want to be beaten up by a show, don't watch this. If you're ok with depressing tv or movies, then you should watch this. It's something you won't forget.
