Hi 00Venenum00, it's been a while!

I finally finish watching the animes you recommended to me based on the manga you read:

  • Ascendance of a Bookworm quickly became one of my favorites! I really liked this story it has a lot of detail and it's an interesting world. Can't wait for S3.
  • Beastars, I thought the story was good. I can see what you said about the CG art style, it was not awful, but it would have been much better if they do it hand-drawn. It was a missing opportunity to create something more artistic & edgy.
  • Gleipnir was quite weird, but I don't dislike that. The art style & character designs were quite bland. I'll have to wait for the next season to see where the story is going. Would you say that the anime adapted the manga story good enough?
  • Plunderer, I didn't like it at all, I'm not a fan of fan-service and that is all it had at least up to episode 6 where I just couldn't stand it anymore! I forced myself to watch those 6 episodes hoping story will develop later, but nah.
  • Somali, was not my type of show, but I definitely can see why a lot of people like it. The animation was great. I still add it to the list of this year (work in progress).
  • Bofuri was hilarious, I liked that one too, but not sure if the story can still support S2 with the same level of excitement, they will have to do something to push the boundaries they set.
  • Toilet-Bound is the only one that I haven't finish yet, I have only watch Episode 1. It usually takes me forever to go through episodic animes. I prefer to watch epic stories that span several episodes. I'll keep going every now and then as long it keeps my interest.
  • Kemono Jihen & Sleepy Princess are still to be released later this year with no date in sight. The first one seems the type of anime I like most. The second one I'll have to try a few episodes to see how the comedy comes up.

Thanks for all your recommendations!

I was wondering, how is it for you to watch these animes since you already know the story through the manga? Do you feel like the manga spoils the anime for you? Of would you say that it keeps the same level of excitement when you see it animated?

Which ones would you say were the best adaptation from the manga?

And which ones the worst?

Hey, no problem, I get busy too so let's just reply when we can.

Thanks for your recommendations, I added them to my want to watch list.

The only manga I have attempted to read is Berserk, but despite liking the art style a lot and I definitely love the story, it still fails to capture my attention the same way an anime does. I wonder if it is because I already know the story in anime form? But it's easier for me to immerse myself in an anime than a manga. There are a few mangas that I"m interested in reading, but it's mostly because there is no sequel for the animes and I want to learn how the story ends.

I've been watching anime in release order, but now that I'm getting close to catching up with current shows, I might pick up the mangas and try again.
